Traders Hotel Yangon, Yangon

I spend 4 nights there, the service is extremly good compared to other more developed cities in S.E.A. We needed to use the business centre one day and it was after the usual business hours. The staff immediately retrieve the keys and waited on us without question. The breakfast has a great variety.

As I travel to Myanmar for the first time and I had no idea how about the hotel in Yangon will be. After I spent 2 night in Trader hotel I feel it is much more better than other hotels in many countries around Asia. It is better than Inter continental in Phnom Penh, Cambodia which price is extremely high with so-so service. The price is very reasonable, it is below than 100 USD at the present time that USD is weakening. It may be because my reservation was made by my customer who has contact with the hotel. Foods variety is ok but not much change from day to day. Internet is prohibited in room ???? more explanation should be provided, because most of guest is business man. Staffs have very service mind but management push too much feedback result from staff. Many staffs try to encourage me a form to evaluate of their service which this cause guest a bit annoying but not much. Management should do something to get these evaluations without causing guest Overall, it is quite attractive hotel for my first time in Yangon and I think I will be back to stay again for my next visit

The kitchen is the only thing about Traders that is not 5 Stars.Its a 3 at the most! The breakfast is BAD and the buffets are only a little better!

The service has deteriorated over the past year or so. The quality of the food is way off. There is better value for money in many other places in Yangon. Pity to see a formerly good hotel go down hill.

Traders Hotel is world-famous for its location and service. The staff are friendly and fast. Check-in was a breeze and the bellhops are great. There aren't many jobs in Burma - so be sure to tip because they're supporting their entire family. You can't use your credit card at this hotel because of U.S. trade sanctions. Think twice about visiting Burma. This hotel is fine - but there are nicer ones along the lake!! sublimingtravel by blogtrek

if you like to shop at the local markets, this is your best option. The hotel itself is a little dated, but good for yangon. You are either looking to be in the town center (and then this is the choice for you) or you want to be near the lake and the big pagoda which is a much nicer setting, but a bit further from the market. besides the market, it is not a very clean or walking city. breakfast was good.
