A great family experience.

We had a great family experience at the Hyatt. My children loved the pool which was very clean. The breakfast was also very good with a lot of different foods for them to choose from.

We would definately stay again and again!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/29/06
I travel a lot due to my job.I am a wife and a mother of five. When I travel away from home to another state I take us all. No other hotel would book us because we are a large size family unless we booked two rooms. Amerisuites did not hesitate to take our reservation! When we checked in the staff was polite, helpful, and anxious to do what they could to help make our stay as nice as possible. Our room was nice and comfortable. The light over the bed did not work, we contacted front desk and Michelle was ready and prepared to fix the problem. The pool was nice, the breakfast was GREAT, and when we needed anything it was just a phone call away. The cable however was limited on channels.Mary,Michelle, and the rest of the staff including the breakfast and cleaning crew were all very kind. We will definately stay again and again!!! I encourage you to stay at the Amerisuites and experience a home away from home.

Extra Special Treatment
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/18/06
As soon as I checked in they provided me with fresh flowers in my room and champagne. (Moet White Star - not bad at all) The furniture looked brand new in the Taking Care of Business Suite. Even had a plasma TV and DVD player. The hotel arranged for a personal massage therapist to come by and take care of me. I stayed for about a week and was very happy when I left. Probably thanks to the massage almost every night after long hard days.

frustrating
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/29/06
Positive first: Good location, nice staff. Moved to this hotel because I needed Internet. The wired nor the wireless worked. During the 4 days I stayed there they moved me to three different rooms in an attempt to find working Internet.(not an easy task because I carry a lot of stuff) The wired never worked the wireless worked one night. The beds (both king and doubles) are extremely hard and old (one mattress was actually coming apart). Room cleanliness was inconsistent. Very few TV channels.

I will never go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/21/05
I made reservations for two families. Not only were my reservations lost, but the room my family friends had was not what was booked (smoking versus non-smoking; two double beds versus one king bed and a pull out). As I complained about not receiving what I requested, the staff was not sympathetic or accomodating. Both staff members at the desk proceeded in blaming "they" for messing up the reservation. The staff also informed me that the hotel was recently acquired by Hyatt Hotels as if this information meant anything to me and my family. Hyatt Hotels needs to have a professional HR firm train the Amerisuite Roanoke, VA front desk employees in crisis management. Also, management was unavailable for comment. I have stayed at the Amerisuites in Overland Park, KS and that was a much nicer experience.

Really, really BAD!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/12/05
In my line of work I stay in a hotel 2-3 nights per week all over the US and Europe so I really do know what I'm talking about...this hotel was just horrible. I booked two rooms and was embarrased that I brought my friends and family to this terrible hotel. The rooms and furnishings were cheaply made, the beds were wobbly, the "suite" was a wall between the bed and a very uncomfortable couch. The floor was stained as was the bath/shower. All in all definately not worth the $99 +. The reason I say "+" is the extra charge for the 'in room safe' that I of course never used. Was told by the front desk on checkout that this was added to all internet reservations. Doesn't seem fair to me! Then when I asked for a credit they were incredibly rude, like it's never been questioned before. They couldn't credit the bill they had to credit my card, however they made an error on that too, it was credited and then DEBITED again, so they still got the extra charge. The breakfast was pretty good though the dining area was dirty, I had to wipe the sticky mess off the table. The heater/a.c. was loud, the elevator was loud. The front desk staff was either rude or couldn't have cared less about us. I will NEVER stay there again and hope this reveiw will save you from making my mistake.
