Paper walls?
By John, 06/18/09
Well, the good new is the staff was friendly and the room was nice and clean. Unfortunately, the walls were paper thin, and you hear every door slam, every person in the hall, every car outside in the parking lot. We are night owls and typically got to bed at 1-2 a.m. Early in the morning the noise began daily, and out of 5 nights we didn't get one decent sleep. One morning we had someone in the room above us, and it sounded like a stampede for 3 hours straight! I was awoken daily by the maids also, they start bright and early, and it sounds like the vacuum is right in the room with you! How hotels get away with such lousy construction is beyond me!

What a wonderful time.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/11/06
My wife and I recently stayed at the Sleep Inn in Grand Island. It appears to be brand new or at least newly renovated. I asked the young gentleman at the desk (very friendly and knowledgable) He said they had been there for over 10 years now...WOW! You couldn't tell. The rooms were very clean. Nice pool area and hot tub. Beds were a little firm, but I like a real soft bed, but over all they were comfortable. The Location was excellent. Right across the street from the Mall and a lot of really good eating places, including El Toro and Whiskey Creek. We also stopped in at Balz, once again a wonderful bar. The entire town is quaint. I was actually surprised at the size of the town as I had never heard of it before. (We were on our way to Denver). Once you get into town, the hotel is very easy to find. The breakfast was ok, they dindn't have waffles, which we had grown accustomed to, but that's ok. They still had the basics like coffee, fruit, yogurt, cereal, danishes, etc. On top of it all, they had FREE wireless internet, what more could you ask for??? Great Value for the price. If you have the chance, I highly suggest that you stop in at the Sleep Inn. You won't be disappointed at all.

Just average

The one advantage to his hotel is it's location near the mall and other shopping. If your travel takes you down I80 and you're looking for a place to spend the night, check out the Holiday Inn and Holiday Inn Express (both right at I80). This hotel is about 8 miles north. Like most Sleep Inns, it's pretty basic, but clean. Rooms are not as sound proof as you would get in a Hampton or Holiday Inn Express. Overall, it was ok, but I'd probably try some place else next time.
