not bad
By yahoo contributor, 12/28/11
The hotel room was clean but not updated. Bathroom was small and the room only had one chair. Air-conditioner was in the window and when put on it didn't work well. We checked in early and were told the room would be ready at 4pm, to leave our luggage which we did. Upon returning to the hotel at 4:30 our lugguage was greatly delayed in being delivered. After several phone calls to the desk it was delivered at 10 pm. I would go back as the location was great. Nice Italian restaurant a few doors down that served brerakfast/lunch/dinner at a great price. Customer service was excellent there.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/4/11
It was a great hotel, I stayed there a few nights. I paid for most of it with a free gift card that I got from ESPN. I think they're still giving them out at nflgiftcards.info, hurry before they run out!

will not go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/20/11
Location was great. Don't be fooled by pictures, rooms do not look like the website. Looks great from street, lobby is nice. But room was old. Extremely dirty windows. Bathroom was ok, but needed updates badly. Tiny elevators, packed with people. Air conditioner hanging from window with plywood.

Dissapointed
By gurdev, 10/12/10
This hotel had the worst and dirtiest room I have ever stayed in over multiple trips to NYC. I would not recommend this place. Dust in the corners and along the walks, dirty tub, outdated TV, and nasty hallways greeted us. Also, the. Bathtub faucets were broken. Overall a dismal experience. My friends from NYC were embarrassed.

Clean but not as website depicted
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/18/10
Small creepy room, room not ready until after 4pm, when voiced disappointment, charged $50 to cancel rest of nights stay. Window airconditioner. Not happy. Not interested in customer satisfaction.

Great place, good service, good location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/7/10
We stayed for three nights from 2/24-2/26. We would recommend this hotel to anyone. We had a room on the 17th floor, wifi was included and the room was very nice and clean. We will definitely stay at The Belvedere again. The front desk staff and concierge were always helpful. We quickly learned to use the service elevators at the end of each hallway if needed. Our heat didn't work but the rooms temperature was very comfortable. Our stay was during a major snow storm and when we called to ask if someone could help with the heat on our second day they sent someone up immediately. The person was very nice and addressed the problem professionally. He indicated that if it didn't come on in 45 minutes to call and ask for another room or ask for a space heater. We were very pleased with their service; either way they did everything they could to help. We did ask for the space heater even though the heat did eventually come on. The room held out the eliminates very well with or without the heat but it was nice to have and made us feel better. The hotel is located a few blocks from Broadway and Rockefeller Center. Nearby subway stations take you where ever you need to go if necessary. We mostly walked every where since it was close to restaurants and shopping. If your looking for a nice place located in a good location with good service this is the place to stay.

Great place if the price is right
By holders2, 2/16/10
We stayed for four nights from 2/11 to 2/15. I would recommend this hotel to friends. I already have. Be sure to get the executive rooms on an upper floor. Yes, you pay a little more but you get an updated room and wifi is included. Our room was spacious and well appointed. Check their website for discounts. I will definitely stay at The Belvedere again if the price is right. The front desk staff was always helpful. They even printed my boarding passes for my return trip when I could not get it to print in the business center. The concierge was always gracious and willing to help. The elevators are, as some have said, slow and small but I have waited at the most luxurious hotels for an elevator. My wife and daughter used the service elevators at the end of each hallway sometimes. Our TV went out with 2 days (1 night) left on our stay. The front desk immediately sent not 1 but 2 men to try to fix it. They could not fix it and the person who could was not working on Sunday. They could not give us another room as the hotel was full for Valentine's Day but they did give us free breakfast. Not only for the 2 of us but also our daughter who was coming to see us off that last morning. The breakfast is $20 buffet style. I was grateful until I went and ate there. Do not pay to eat the breakfast. By the way, it is $15 for the continental breakfast. If I had paid for the breakfast, I would have been upset and would have asked for my money back. The food was cold. The eggs and fried potatoes were inedible. Let's just say that this was the one true negative of my stay. Not the fact that the TV quit working (stuff happens beyond the hotel's control) but that I ate the breakfast. They can control how the food is prepared and presented.

Great location..BUT
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/2/08
The room was a very good size.. we had a deluxe double double.2 double beds.. matressesses were very comfortable... very firm, which I like( no designer pillow top mattresses, or thick duvet comfortors,or down pillows).convenient small kitchen area with coffee maker, fridge, and microwave.. but . VERYsmall bathroom, bad lighting ( in room as well),no counter space ( very samll shelf above sink), and not one full length mirror..a bit hard for women who want to get dressed with a mirror or put on makeup. Staff very nice, and room very clean..but the location is the best. Very close to all theatres and great restaurants.(Hell's Kitchen and restaurant row on 46th street). and great spot to have a bite late at night. Very safe area.Price dropped 3 times before I left for NY...so be sure and check rates..Internet rates way too high..Call the 800 number for hotel directly.

Location is good, hotel is so-so
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/08
I travelled to NYC on business, this hotel has the typical NYC hotel problems - rooms too small, bathroom sink didn't work, poor ventilation, too expensive ($300/night). However, if all you want is a good location this is the place for you - walk to broadway, times square, rockefeller center. Get a room on a high floor for more peace and quiet. Skip the breakfast buffet and go to Pigalle cafe at 48th and 8th ave - excellent quality and fast service for about $15 including tip.
