Business Office has problems!

New York, New York was great in general but not the Business Office. We were trying to print an attachment that we had received in our email for a house that we were in the process of trying to sell. We did what the instructions said to do in order to print at their printers. You were suppose to get a confirmation email in your email which we never got. We tried a few times. The employees working their didn't understand why we hadne't gotten the email. We had to pay $5.00 for nothing! So we went upstairs to the self serve office and did it there for another $5.00. This was on Friday night. We stayed there until Sunday. When I got to work on Monday I finally got the confirmation email in the afternoon. How ridiculous is that? Something is definitely wrong.

They charge a resort fee in Vegas when others don't, so don't fall for the Lo price bait and switch. Shops and snacks prices are over inflated. Machines are tight and don't pay well. Hotel turned water off for the whole hotel with little notice and would not comp the night. Manager refused to exit her office and even talk to me. Poor customer service and really poor customer relations.

Very impressed - did not feel like a budget hotel.

I loved staying at this hotel! I stayed for 5 nights and there was not one thing I could find fault with. The pit bosses really take care of you, the little restaurants inside did not 'nickle and dime' you, and it was such a pleasurable experience we are going back for New Years 2011/2012 this year! I have booked an appt at the salon for New Year's Eve and feel the prices are much better than other salon's in the area. Can't wait!

Very weak

Staff untrained , uncaring. Room small for price. Walls paper thin. Room location near roller coaster, kids screaming past our window every few minutes, worse than water boarding. Hotels clubs, restaurants, ammenities were standard but over priced. Has to be worst Resort Hotel in Vegas!!!

I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely rude and they do not make it appoint to make you feel welcome. We upgraded our non-smoking (which smelled like smoke) room and felt like we were in a cheap roadside motel, not what we were expecting for the price. We had a reservation and by check-in time, our room was still not ready and were told that our reservation does not mean we would have a room by check-in time. There is also a $15 resort fee that you are not told about until you check in and covers your "free" internet in the rooms, fitness center and the "free" coupon book that you receive even if you do not need them.

We stayed for 2 nights. The hotel was overall excellent and fun - clean rooms. However, we had a very dissatisfying experience with one of the front desk managers on our second day. When we checked in the first night, the front desk staff were very very accommodating with all smiles. There were actually six people who attended to us as they were conducting training during that time. We informed the front desk that if we dont check out the following day by check-out time, we will be extending our stay for another night and it was acknowledged and the one in-charge said that it would be the 'same rate' as what we have booked. She said just to inform the front desk. But the following day we were given the same room but for a higher rate. Of course, we were surprised of the increase and that's when the day shift manager (Ms. Houghlands) came to resolve the issue but with an attitude. She was giving us a lecture that we were misquoted and we should do this and that the next time and trying to lecture us about price changes an all that and she just turned her back on us. The point is her attitude and instead of telling us 'what to do the next time'; she should say that to her staff 'that next time' be efficient in making price quote that would lead to wrong information. It's totally not about the money but its about being courteous to customers so that they will come back the 'next time'. The hotel was excellent but the attitude of this particular manager was totally unsatisfactory.

Tired

This hotel is very "tired" and needs a refresh. Checked in and was given a room on the 6th floor. It was smelly (non smoking??), and had no view. I went to the front desk to complain and was immediately given a room on the 15th floor. Good recovery!. Even though I have stayed at this hotel many times, I may look for an alternative.

NEVER EVER AGAIN

I had booked a non-smoking room and when we arrived we were told there were NO non-smoking rooms in the price we had prepaid. We could upgrade and then we could get a non-smoking room. It of course was more money. I asked the desk clerk for an upgrade without additional fees and was told "there are no guarantees that I would receive a room of my preference" She was so RUDE. I will make a point of letting anyone I know that is planning a trip to Vegas to NOT stay at New York-New York. The people at the Players Club were so nice and pleasant. and helpful. We had meals at the American and the food was great and the sevice was good on one visit and great on the next.
