Not Disappointed
By ,
It was my first trip to Vegas and I really wanted to make it a fun one. NYNY seemed like a slam dunk. I ended up booking one of those vacation packages thru the hotels website. I didn't actually read any of the reviews here until after I'd already booked the trip so naturally I was a little concerned with some of the negatives I heard about the hotel. As a whole NYNY is a really fun place to hang at. The atmosphere there is just one of energy, fun, and excitement. And if you should partake in any activities that involve alcohol then you're bound to make a friend or two along the way. I think anyone who's going to Vegas for the first time should definitely spend some time at the NYNY. Now, everything wasn't all sunshine of course. My hotel room though it was clean and maintained as well as it probably could be was just OK. The furniture in the room clearly had seen better days. There was no fridge in the room which was a bit of a drag but I'm not so fancy that I can't do without. My view of the strip was nice though. The stay there did end a little sour. My friend that accompanied me to Vegas for the trip had a slight mishap with the key card to her room. We went to breakfast that last morning of the trip and when my friend tried to get back into her room she found that her key card was not working. So she goes down to the front desk. They wont simply reset the lock or the card for her because she didn't have her ID with her (in the room). So my friend ends up being escorted to her room by security like some kind of thief. So the security guy basically stands there watching her while she's gathering her things as if to say "Its time for you to get out". Whats effed up about the whole thing is that it wasn't even checkout time. So needless to say that bummed us out a bit and made us feel even more strongly that we'd be staying at another hotel for our next visit. All of this being said I'd still go back to NYNY just to hang and have a good time. I just would not stay there again.

Nice hotel
By ,
We stayed 8/14-8/19/10. Check in was great, but we got there about 10 am. Since we were early, we got luck and they had a room for us. Back side of the building overlooking the pool, 28th floor. Room was nice, actually, the bed was really comfortable. Slept really good. The casino is dark and hard to see, and the whole area was pretty loud. We liked the hotle ok, but seemed far from things we wanted to do. There is a bus that runs up and down the strip, but confusing to us. We figured out there was a monorail that goes the strip, but is a bit overpriced. I think there is tram that you can ride if you get on it behind the Monte Carlo. If it is your fist time there you really have to ask a lot of questions because no one really seemed to be very informative about getting around. Went to Fremont street, and was told the taxi would be around $15 each way. It was 21 going to 23 coming back. It was fun though, and it is less expensive to gamble there. Loved the show, Terry Fator, and Cirde so leigh The Beatles. If we go back, may try different hotel. The Mirage looked pretty nice, but would proably cost more. We didnt eat at any of the buffets, very over priced and who can eat $40 at a buffet and then not be misreable. Had a great time though.

Very poor service
By ,
I recently stayed at the New York New York and would not stay there again. The room was nothing special and the bed rock hard. In the casino trying to get a waitress to bring you a drink is difficult at best. After a night out I returned to my room to find my luggage had been gone through and some of my belongings had been taken. I still cannot get a response from the hotel, and don't expect I ever will. If you do stay here put everything in the safe.

Won't go back
By ,
Being a newer hotel I expected more. They have central A/C but it just wasn't putting out very much air, So we asked to switch rooms but it wasn't much better. But if you kept your curtains closed all the time it helped keep the room a few degrees cooler. Plus no refrigerator. All u have is and ice machine down the hall and that's it. Also the rooms were nothing special, The time before this we stayed at the La Quinta which to be was way better then this.

LOVE THIS PLACE Going back next week
By ,
The last 6 times we have gone to Vegas we have stayed at NYNY. We find the atomosphere to be more our style. People are great, food is great, lots to see, all our favorite machines, and a casino Host named Barbara that always takes great care of us. We highly recommend you check it out if you have never stayed here, and enjoy the anemities it has to offer. You won't be disappointed. Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, food is great, and we LOVE THIS PLACE.

Great games for kids but needs updated
By ,
My first visit ever in vegas and we stayed at the NY NY. Had some great little eateries and a great game place for the children. They really liked the roller coaster. I will probably stay somewhere else next time. The baths only offered 2 rags , 3 towels for 4 people. Bed covers need updated and air conditioners need to be able to be cooler. Rooms were hot from 2-7 every day.

Service is lacking
By ,
I really loved the atmosphere of NYNY, it gives you a feel of New York City with it's little streets set up selling all kinds of foods and Coyote Ugly of Vegas is located in the hotel which is a fun place. However on my next visit to Vegas I will gladly visit the casino of NYNY but I will not stay there. The room was very nice but the service is not good. Registration was a little rude, cocktail waitresses don't care if you want a drink so don't bother trying, the players club in the casino was even rude and don't even ask for bell service they will be incredibly rude if they feel you didn't tip well enough. Maybe they're going for that real New York feel but this small town girl isn't wasting money on bad service.

20th Wedding Anniversary wonderful place to stay.
By ,
We stayed in the Marquize suite, it is Beautiful !!. We were there for 4 nights, the room was imaculate, The views were spectacular, we were on the 37th floor, no noise from other guests that was top notch for us as we like to talk or watch t.v. at normal levels, and not have to be disturbed by other guests that might be having trouble with children, or just having to much fun . We will be back, and yes we have already recommened the New York New York to family and friends thank you for the wonderful experience.

ready to head back!!!!!!!
By ,
the new york new york is a great place to stay, my wife and i have been staying there now for the last 3 trips (we usually go at least once a year) i cannot say anything about the normal rooms (we allways get comped to a suite) the first time was a players club suite (jacuzzi in the bedroom), next trip was a penthouse suite (1195 sq ft) it was very nice but the next year!!! wow what a room we had (top floor penthouse suit!!!) way more than only two people need (actually has two jacuzzi tubs!!) the only bad thing about the room was that we never could find all the light switches to turn everything off to make it totally dark!!!!) we allways deal with a casino host (thanks barbara!!! she is the greatest!!!!!)for all of our trips and use the vip check in and going that way everything is taken care of from the limo ride from the airport and anywhere we want to go to (havent tried to take the limo to laughlin, maybe next trip) but if you like to play i highly recommend the nyny
