we will never go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/16/11
They charge a resort fee in Vegas when others don't, so don't fall for the Lo price bait and switch. Shops and snacks prices are over inflated. Machines are tight and don't pay well. Hotel turned water off for the whole hotel with little notice and would not comp the night. Manager refused to exit her office and even talk to me. Poor customer service and really poor customer relations.

Great Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/3/11
It was a great hotel, I stayed there a few nights. I paid for most of it with a free gift card that I got from ESPN. I think they're still giving them out at nflgiftcards.info, hurry before they run out!

Is there head of security
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/11
I stayed at New York New York Hotel from September 5 to September 8, 2011. My thoughts of the hotel were great until the early morning hours of September 8, 2011, my last day staying there. At approximately 4;30 AM, I was awakened by hearing the click of the hotel key and the door opening. My initial thoughts "oh no I overslept and the maids were there." But then I began to sit up and I started hearing men talking. It was two young guys drunk as a skunk and somehow their hotel key fit my hotel keyhole. They started cussing to each other *Dude, we're in the wrong room...what the ****...oh sh**. Miss we are so sorry. Miss you need to call security and let them know about this." I was stunned and shocked and didn't say a word. When they left I called the operator, explained my situation and instead of security the operator connected me to the front desk manager. I wish I would have kept names but I didn't...all I know it was a female. She asked me if I was sur e this happened that it might have been a dream. I said no, but tell me what I need to do. Being that it was 4:30 in the morning, she said she would deactivate the key hole. She said she would conduct a "key interrogation" going on and get to the bottom of this. The rest of the morning was wasted by me pacing and scared to death. By 8:00 am I decided to call again, called the operator and again didn't direct me to the hotel security, she forwarded me to the front desk manager, even though I had already talked with one, but the front desk hotel manager got on the line. This time it was a gentleman and his comments were worse. He allegedly claimed that I must have been dreaming because this type of situation doesn't happened. I explained well it did happen. Again he ended the conversation that they will conduct a "key interrogation". Never once did either of these managers directed me to the security department. In fact, I called the 8:00 am manager back and requested that I be comped coffee in my room. I had a bad night and just wanted coffee. the manager hesitated and stated that "he" wasn't sure that the room service might not be able to do this. I just thought to myself "are you kidding me?" but hung up. Coffee was delivered and nothing else. No calls back to ask me or apologize to me. I was pretty traumatized by the incident and felt like I WAS NOT believed. If I was dreaming that two guys came into my room I would have had George Clooney and/or Brad Pitt...but it was two young bald white guys drunk and yelling. I hope they find the reason how another guest could come into my room. I am a single older women and imagined what ifs? What if they came in and raped me, what if they robbed me, what if? The more I think about it the more I am upset with the fact that this siutation wasn't forwarded to the head of security and not believed by the front desk manager. I expect to hear from the head of security as to how this happened and I would like this forwarded to the cEO or COO of this company. I would like a respond from both security and the CEO of MGM hotels.

Very impressed - did not feel like a budget hotel.
By liz, 9/9/11
I loved staying at this hotel! I stayed for 5 nights and there was not one thing I could find fault with. The pit bosses really take care of you, the little restaurants inside did not 'nickle and dime' you, and it was such a pleasurable experience we are going back for New Years 2011/2012 this year! I have booked an appt at the salon for New Year's Eve and feel the prices are much better than other salon's in the area. Can't wait!

Very weak
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/9/11
Staff untrained , uncaring. Room small for price. Walls paper thin. Room location near roller coaster, kids screaming past our window every few minutes, worse than water boarding. Hotels clubs, restaurants, ammenities were standard but over priced. Has to be worst Resort Hotel in Vegas!!!

Spreading The News about NY NY and it's BAD!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/22/11
I booked a Delta.com vacation for myself and a friend for April 17-21. We chose NY NY because of the great price, but upon our arrival, things started to unravel. First, we were upgraded to a broadway room and were excited, but we soon found out that it was a smoking room, which caused problems for my friend, who is a severe asthmatic. I called down to the front desk, where they told us they were completely booked and we had to wait until the following day. We were still given the broadway room, just on a higher non smoking room after complaining. First, the room we had was too big and had no fridge, the safe was broken and the remote didn't even work either! There was one small dresser and no room to put away clothes. Next, the resort fee is a WASTE!! The internet connection was terrible and the other services like newspapers and fax copies were not of use to us! The coupon book they give you is terrible, it has crappy deals, which cause you to spend more money to even get a deal! The casino floor was somewhere where you NEVER saw a waitress, we searched for 45 minutes to get a girl only to be told, she was working the pit. The check out line was always long, no matter what time of day. We constantly saw casino workers, (restaurant staff, custodians, but no one was ever cleaning up dirty glasses, emptying ashtrays or offering a smile. Housekeeping was ALWAYS late, one day they cleaned the room at 5 pm the other days we had to call and tell them to come to the room! The hotel itself is far away from the nicer attractions like the Bellagio, Venetian, Paris. The only good thing about NY NY was the fact that we were in walking distance to the MGM grande and the monorail system to get away from this awful place!

bad experience
By Vegas, 3/18/11
I would not recommend this hotel. The staff is extremely rude and they do not make it appoint to make you feel welcome. We upgraded our non-smoking (which smelled like smoke) room and felt like we were in a cheap roadside motel, not what we were expecting for the price. We had a reservation and by check-in time, our room was still not ready and were told that our reservation does not mean we would have a room by check-in time. There is also a $15 resort fee that you are not told about until you check in and covers your "free" internet in the rooms, fitness center and the "free" coupon book that you receive even if you do not need them.
