Very nice and very quiet

This place sits back from the road, in which there is very little traffic as it is the start of the Denali Highway. Rooms are large and the beds are comfortable and clean. There are a couple of local trails to explore on the grounds. Triple AAA rated and not very expensive either. Great place to stay away for the traffic and crowds around the Denali park entrance and it is only a 20 minute ride to the restaurants and park entrance. Since we were going to drive across the Denali Highway it was even better.

Awesome, Beautiful place.

My husband and I stay at the Backwoods Lodge while he works in Cantwell, AK and I get my beauty rest there in the beautiful settings. The only thing is they need to tell their patrons to bring an extension cord for the winter reservations.

Love it!

The rooms are clean, very comfortable, home feeling. Private/remote but not oo far out of the way, owners are wonderful with friendly service. I just love the place. I stay there everytime I go to Cantwell.

Very nice place

Had been there this summer 06 and it is a very comfortable clean and very nice place. Very nice hot water shower! The owners are very thoughful and have provided lots of necessary items - microwave-cups, cleaner,plastic plates..Next time if I ever get to visit Denali I will choose this place.

We Stayed an Extra Day!

We loved the quiet, clean, well organized space. Beautiful surroundings and very friendly hosts. The walk to the pond was nice. We stayed the second night in a cabin without running water - still loved it, no inconvience at all. Would stay again in a minute!! Only about 30 min from park entrance (Denali). Two mini-marts nearby. Great place!

Friendly and Cozy

Nice and quiet, owners were very pleasant. All the necessities that you could use were in the room IE microwave, refrig, TV, cable. Would stay there again definitely!!

Great place to stay

I have stayed at the Backwoods Lodge on my last 2 visits to Alaska. The owners are terrific, and the accomodations are clean and pleasant. I stayed there on trips to Denali National Park. While the lodge is about 20 miles south of the park, it was nice to get away from all the commericialism that is centered there at the entrance to the park. The hotels up there are big and intrude on the beauty of the area. It was nice to retire to the Backwoods Lodge in a nice quiet setting and relax and enjoy the peace that Alaska has to offer. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy this fine facility.
