Great Honeymoon
By E-Money, 7/12/10
This was a great place for me and my newly married wife to vacation. We were given points for the timeshare as a gift from a family member. I couldn't of asked for more. Granted the reason I am writing this review is because we read some of these reviews here before going and were hesitant. Honestly most of these reviews that say this resort is bad are some sort of East Coaster Kennedy wanna be. If you are down to earth and don't need the most luxurious accommodations on earth then this is an amazing place. The staff was helpful and got us anything we needed or at least told us how. They arranged for get-a-ways and for grocery shopping trips for us. They got us involved as much or as little as we wanted to. The pool bar was the best place to meet other couples and a great place to sit and hang out in the sun. The bartender Beau was amazing and was great at giving advice and suggestions. The beach here is one of the best on the island. We meet a lot of people that were staying at other high end resorts that would drive across the island to visit our beach. Even a bunch of locals would come by in the afternoons for a drink and to let their kids play at the beach. We were able to meet many great people from all over the states just because we stayed here. They offered dinners which were catered in; these were a great value for not having to drive into town and find parking or take a cab. The food they provided was buffet all you can eat and was of very good quality. Some of the reviews here talked about iguanas and cat being all over the property, yes they were. Also take into account you leave home on a vacation to see things you don't see at home. None of these animals would bother anyone, it is just part of the island life. Others complained about the amount of stairs, unless getting up 15 stairs is a problem for you this should be fine. I even read about people complaining about the lack of things to collect on the beach like shells. Well, that is nature this is in a bay and not much washed up there. You are not on vacation to take things from nature, you are there to take nature in and leave footprints. I would recommend this resort to anyone I know. It isn't the Bellagio of St. Thomas but it will suit almost any needs. I cant wait till I can go back again.

Worst Accomodations EVA
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/15/09
Not only were the couches flea infested, the whole property was ant infested. We had huge red bug bits all over our legs and we think they are flea bites. We are going to the doctors office ASAP! You have to climb like 99 stairs to go anywhere and the beach was not like the other baches. There was a lot of rocks, no fish, no shells, no coral reefs, and a few dried coral pieces. The ants could get in under the door and my first room had to get changed because it had a very strong musty smell and a few geicos running around. Walking anywhere is like impossible because of all the twists and turns getting to the hotel. Also, Mr. Nice Guy is the only taxi anyone at the hotel has the number for. His nephew picked us up once to drive us to another Wyndham hotel (because ours sucked) and he said that it was like our hotel, and we read about it later. It had everything we wanted and more!!! And after he told us that we decided to go to Sapphire Beach. When he picked us up someone was in the car. We went up, up, up and the man got out of the car and into a big house with a black duffle (sneaking it in). He did a drug deal with us sitting in the car!!! Then had the nerve to charge us extra when we got back because we did not go to the original destination. Mr. Nice Guy gave us one free ride to the airport, for one person. And there wasn't even enough room, people were sitting on top of each other literally! And we all had to sit on the back of the bus, like he insisted that we do so the girl sitting on top of someone could be comfortable. He has some type of hold on the hotel. My advice is ask a bell man to drop you off at the entrance to the hotel, wlk to a taxi stop, and catch a dollar taxi. It will save you a lot of money we paid $50 at the least daily to go places.

Okay if you can't afford more
By splat, 3/19/09
This place is run down, full of breeding cats, has a public swimming pool, and puportedly has bed bugs. For the same price per week (700) I'd rather camp in St John.

GREAT PLACE, BAD ETHICS!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/20/07
We had a really great time here, rooms were excellent, staff were friendly and helpful, very relaxing except for the climb up 36 steps to the room from the pool.we had our grandson of four years of age with us and were perturbed to say the least by the profanities eminating from the drunks round the bar at the pool.Same people every day from opening time 'till close.Need a car and MUST go to St John ($50 on the ferry including passengers). In particular go to Trunk Bay it is absolutely breathtaking especially for snorkeling.A car cost us $250 per week and you WILL spend more than this on taxis.Food is quite expensive as shipped containers are $6000 a time to import food etc. You can use every beach on the island no matter what hotel is on it, that's the law, and we did not find one beach that wasn't great. Now the bad news!! Wyndham or Fairfield hold a credit card deposit on arrival and the $250 is deducted there and then, but we have now been back home for some three weeks and no re-imbursement. The head office at Wyndham will not even return our calls. Also be aware that there is a $9 per person (maximum of $18) per day utility surcharge which works out quite expensive for a two week stay.Having said that, we will want to go back again sometime in the future as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This is NOT the place to be if you want noise and excitement, but for peace and quiet, you can't beat it. They do have internet connection free at the office, handy but dial up only, Have a great vacation.

can't wait to go back
loved everything about it but beach going into the water was a bit rough with all the rocks, coki beach was much nicer, also do not use mr nice guy as a cab he is a rip off, seriously we learned after our 2nd day and met some people that told us about carl ( # 513-1216) he was great and always on time even at 4 am when we needed to get to the airport, didnt care that they let some locals come and use the pool and pool bar, the last day we were there there was a large group of 25-30 year olds drunk and cussing!! was'nt to happy bout that. but as far as the whole resort it was great. room was clean and maids were very nice and paid attention to detail, but for nightlife they need something like iggies, now that was a great nightlife place!!also got to go to mims on thursday nights they have all u can eat shrimp and it was awsome and they also have a very good menu

Timeshare Vacation Experience
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/15/07
We just returned from the Bluebeards's Beach Club and found the experience to be lacking in basis service; ie: maid service only provided clean towels daily..staff multitasking-cook must take food orders, run the bar, and serve the food, which created a long wait time. The energy surcharge of $9.00 per person added additional $126.00 for one week's stay at the resort. Rooms were not especially clean-bathroom tub dirty and may present a challenge to older vacationers due to unusually high bath tub. The curtains in the unit were attached with velcro tape which kept coming down on one corner, air conditioner on lower level did not work, air conditioner upper level noisy. Reception personal unprofessional. However the beach and the view was great. For professionals or anyone looking for a relaxing get-away this is what the doctor ordered. The entertainment "Inner Visions Band" was a great and refreshing sample of rich local musical culture.

A wonderful place to relax!
By Julie, 1/6/07
We were worried about what to expect at this resort after reading reviews others had posted. But when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. True, the desk staff moves on "island time" and was not as helpful or dedicated to customer service as we would have liked, but the resort facilities were mauch better than we had anticipated. The rooms were clean (we had adjoining studio units) and had a lovely view of the ocean and resort grounds. Yes, there are a few iguanas on the walkways and near the pool. But we chose to think of them as we do the squirrels back home and all was fine. The beach at the resort is lovely and very peaceful. A nap in one of the hammocks is a must. Also fantastic are the sunsets that are visible from the beach and the views of the cruise ships lit up and leaving port at night. Be sure to stand on the beach at night and do a little star-gazing as well. If you are patient, you'll likely see a shooting star or two. We didn't try the restaurant at the resort as it seemed a bit expensive and the menu didn't particularly appeal to us. But many others seemed to enjoy it daily. Note that the units only have stovetops for cooking -- no oven. We really enjoyed our vacation in St. Thomas. But do recommend that you take the time for at least a day trip to St. John. The beaches there are sublime and the views are spectacular. We also recommend that you make arrangements to rent a car or jeep for your stay if you are a brave and adventurous driver -- the terrian is extraordinarily hilly and the roads are very narrow. Taxis are expensive (though readily available), and you really will need transportation to see the sights of the island as this resort is centered between Red Hook and Charlotte Amaile. Happy Travels!

Pleasant
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/12/06
I enjoyed my stay I liked the beach even though it was closed the first 3 days I was there. I think you should consider more night events entertainment, We had nothig to do after the sun goes down. I will be returning this year as well. The tennis courts could be cleaned up a bit. I loved the units We had a loft and that was ideal. What a wonderful view.

Time Share Owner Now Disappointed
By sunni, 8/12/05
I bought a floating week [even year] in 2002 while staying at the "Castle" [which is more lively and user-friendly]. I returned in the fall to stay in my unit at the Beach Club. The unit itself was VERY nice; well appointed and quite clean with excellent maid service. However the following left a lot to be desired: 1. Beach - quite rocky and smaller than expected 2. Beach side pool - nice but overrun with iguana who beg all the time 3. Restaurant - fair - food OK but not great and service slow. Not well used by guests. 4. Front desk - sometimes rude, often not warm and/or helpful I spent the majority of my time over at the Castle where the restaurants are simply GREAT-the activities numerous and there is an in-hotel convenience store; not to mention if one desires you can walk to town.
