Do not go there!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 1/2/12
Terrible. Do not waste your money! Terrible service. Massages were so amateur. Classes and groups rarely offered and often fill up because too small. You spend a lot of money for terrible experience. The rooms are cozy but there was a scorpion in my bathroom. The food is above average but service is a joke. The location is peaceful. The yoga classes are above average. This was once a stellar place but now it is a below average spa with an average resort with good food. Not great food but good food.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/17/10
The place seemed nice and had fun amenities but when my flight was cancelled because of snow in the midwest, they charged me $800 for the extra night! My visit was a gift from my parents and I enjoyed my stay until they changed the price from $250 a night to $800! What a ripoff! Also, they don't allow tipping so the staff their are not motivated to go out of their way. They all look...resigned but not happy.

Third time, would go again.
By KD, 5/12/10
Just got back from a 1 1/2 day stay at this resort. This is the third time here. I was by myself and not traveling with my husband. I was not uncomfortable as they were as many single people as well. The resort is open and spacious and very well maintained. My room was of average size but was very comfortable and had a small patio with seating outside. The food was amazing and the service is also very good. They have a very nice spa, one of the best around. The resort has a new cell phone policy which makes it very quiet and overall extremely peaceful. The pool is beautiful and has ample seating and towels are always available. They have a variety of classes that you can take, or if you cannot take any and just relax. It is a bit on the pricey side but I think the value is pretty decent. It's a great place to online and recharge and I can highly recommend it.

Miraval has turned for the worst
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/4/08
Miraval is no longer what it used to be. It is so corporate and they seem to be firing all the staff that have been there the longest and actually know what is going on. I find it every sad because I used to visit many times a year and now I dont even want to go back. It is a waste of money and I guess money is the key word now all Miraval cares about is making money and they could care less about what it used to be about. Very sad. All the managers ( since they all seem to be new ) need to take a good look at what they have ruined

Less than Thrilling Experience at Miraval
By Noushin D, 7/14/08
I have to say that I am trully disappointed at the resort that once used to be number 1 in the world! I used to come to Miraval at least 2-3 times a year. It started from a couple of years ago and after my experience today, I'd have to say that I will NEVER go back there. The staff at the front desk are RUDE and highly UNPROFESSIONAL. The manager is so inconsiderate and trully UNPROFESSIONAL. They have cut to quality of the food. They have fired all the good staff and what is remained is far less than a "balancing experience". My friend and I had purchased the "Day Spa Package" and after we checked out we went to sit at the main lobby so my friend can catch her breath since she had experienced some chest pain. A few minutes later the manager passed by and saw us there, 5 minutes later the security guard came to "escort" us out of the facility since we were not "allowed" to remain there after we have "checked out"! We were astonished and shocked at such disrespectful and unprofessional treatment! I asked to see the manager before we leave at which point she listened and told us that the issue will be brought up to the upper management and told us that we shouldnt' be in any hurry leaving the facility. Needless to say we couldn't wait till we get out of there and today was the last day of my "balancing experience" at Miraval. All and all, over the past 2-3 years, the service had gone down the hill. Even though some very skilled therapist still work there, the staff and the crew are nothing close to professional. I recommend the Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa if you are in town.

Over Priced
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 6/6/08
I loved Miraval years ago but after the new owners took over I waited before giving Miraval one more try. The prices to stay have more then doubled, so I thought higher prices means more services, classes and all the things that made Miraval so unique. WRONG! Miraval has cut many of its classes, fired many original employees, charges now for services that use to be included and have destroyed the originality to such an extend that they have gotten a bad reputation and are focusing only on guests who have never been to Miraval before, because they will be so disappointed.

Miraval - An Amazing Experience!
By Angela, 6/4/08
I highly recommend Miraval. We had a wonderful time. Spa treatments were incrediable. I tried a variety of treatments from Sonoran Mud Wrap, Aqua Zen, Abhyanga and Ginger Healer. All were amazing and uniquely different. An assortment of interesting activities and classes were offered. A must Equine Experience! Food was wonderful and abundant. All around Miraval was a magical experience.

Amazing!!
By Alexia, 3/23/08
I spent a few days at Miraval last week and it was an amazing experience for my friend and I. The mindset of the resort shows within everyone there. The employees are always eager to help in any way they can. The food was wonderful and the rooms were very inviting and comfortable. The spa services were more then I imagined; from my thai massage which was so relaxing and the new out door rooms which added a special touch of tranquility. The advisors took special care to plan out a schedule for my fitness needs with body compositions, personal trainers, and nutrition consults. They are remodeling the resort. They are doing a fabulous job with the noise. The construction is hidden and the only noise I heard was the drumming they had going on by the pool during the day. The hype of the construction has been inflated significantly. I can't wait for my next visit in June.

Think Twice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 3/14/08
Miraval is a very nice place, however there is a massive expansion project going on with construction throughout most of the resort which the reservations department WILL NOT tell you about before booking your trip (and taking your money). My best advice is to book your stay only on Saturday & Sunday(when the construction crews seem to take a break) and head to another nearby resort during the rest of the week. The area is simply stunning and well worth exploring, but please heed my advice and save yourself from headaches. Do not stay at Miraval during the week as you will experience the unpleasantness of jack hammers and noisy tractors as they expand the resort.

Wonderful experience!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 2/27/08
I had such a terrific experience at Miraval this past week. What's not to love about Miraval? The only negative I can think of is that I had to leave and come home. Service, food, accomodations, guests, experiences, classes and everything was just great. Anyone who finds fault with this spa is just too spoiled for words and I hope they don't return to Miraval at a time when I do. I plan to return each year to continue the balance I found at Miraval.
