Worst Hotel I have EVER stayed in
This was a horrible lodging experiece for us. It was so noisy. They allow locals to host slumber parites in this hotel. The nights we stayed there (we stayed on a friday and saturday nights) there was at least 3 parites going on each night. The pool was open 24 hours but with 3 parties of probably 8 people in each party, it made using the pool very difficult. I am not kidding when I say the noise was loud. Stomping, running and jumping at 11pm at night. We called the front desk about this several times. He told us that he would calls the party rooms. Now maybe he did, but the noise level never changed. The second night when the noise started we asked to be moved to a different room. I was told (by the same person who worked the night before) that they were full and didn't have another room for us. But he assure me that the noise level wouldn't be like the previous night as they only have 1 party and their room location was far from us.
Well about an hour later I was with my son in the pool when about 20 young teens (maybe 13 or so) came into the pool area. I quickly realized that there was again 3 slumper parties going on again. There was no adult watching these kids, and they weren't watching out for the young preschooler I had with me. He was splashed, kicked, and pushed around in the pool. We got out of the pool and on our way back to our room I stopped at the front desk. I told the worker I was aware there was more then one party going on. He gave me some excuse of mixing up dates. I again asked for another room and was told there wasn't anpther room. I told him to prepare our check out papers and I was headed back to our room to pack and that we would be checking out in 20 minutes. When I got back to the room I told my husband to start packing and that we would just head home and stop at another hotel along the road.
Well about 2 minutes later, the front desk called and low and behold he had another room for us to move to. He moved us to a corner room at the end of the hallway. It was still noisy, but not as bad and at least we were able to sleep.
I called the hotel a few days later and talked to the manager. I also filled a formal complaint with the chain. The manager refunded us one nights visit and sent me an apology letter with discount coupons in it. I also found out that I wasn't the only one who complained. The manager told me that she will continue to have the parties since it helps the hotel make money. I told her that I hope it makes her a lot money, given that in a while in could be the ONLY business she'll have.
I have never stayed at another La Quinta since. This expereince was so bad. It is truely the worst experience I have ever had staying in a hotel. We travel often for personal and business. I admit I have stayed in some dives (I am Comfort Inn, Days Inn kind of girl--not the Hilton or Four Seasons) but this was the worst. Unless you want to stay up all night, deal with 20+ young teens, and listen to excessive noise, STAY AWAY from this hotel. I know they still have the "slumber party packages" (this is what they call them) today.
