ONE OF OUR BEST VACATIONS!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/23/09
My husband and I were impressed with the Virginia Beach Holiday Inn Express the moment we entered the building; from the guest check-in area, to the pool, to the dining area and lounge, to our room, everything was decorated beautifully and clean, clean, clean!!! Every person working there was friendly and helpful. We were very impressed!!! And the view from our room? Exquisite! We really relaxed and enjoyed every minute of our 4 day stay. Thank you Holiday Inn Express!!!

Didn't get what we expected...
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/08/09
We reserved a SUITE a month before our vacation in August. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told that our suite had a 'maintenance issue' and would not be available. We were assured that we would be notified when it would become available. In the meantime we were given a room with 2 queen beds which was ok, but with 2 teenage boys we needed the extra room. Needless to say, we never were moved to a suite during our stay. (That must have been some maintenance issue!) This was our first stay in Virginia Beach and were very disappointed with our acomodations. This hotel would have been a nice place to stay. Our reservations were made online. Please verify your reservations after you make them to ensure you are getting what you expect.

Decent hotel, would stay there again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/16/09
I really don't have any complaints about this hotel. It was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in the area. And compared to other hotels, the continental breakfast is above average. They had all sorts of breakfast foods to choose from. Staff was pleasant and gave us suggestions on where to go out. We even spilled an entire cooler filled with ice in the lobby and they told us not to worry about it. Would've been nice to have a pool outside but the water was pretty warm and the beach was clean and spacious. Hotel was clean and rooms were fine. Nightlife was a little weak, but we may have been going to the wrong places. I would stay there again if I had the chance. Bring a wiffle ball and bat though, because I don't think they sell them down there. Ya dig.

Never Going Back Again
By zach, 04/16/09
The hotel was a dump! Well, we get to the hotel and find out that our rooms were never booked! I had booked them six months before! So we end up getting a room and the rooms were awful! My aunt was so disgusted that she went the dollar store and spent fifty dollars on cleaning supplies! Then we went to cook some roman noodles for lunch and the microwave had two hamburgers with maggots in it! So we checked out and walked over to the Seahawk Motel and fell in love with the place!

Definately won't be returning!
By frostas21, 11/10/08
Very disrespectful Manager, made me feel like I was not welcome. My finacee and I were on vacation, it was an off season and said that we were not allowed to hug or kiss in public. There is some age difference between us but the disrespect was uncalled for. I will not be returning and neither should anyone else that wants to be romantic on their vacation.

Plenty of Sand Gnats
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/08
We just returned from a trip June 30 and was not impressed with the rooms. First off they had plenty of sand gnats in the room hovering over you and your food. There are plenty of dogs at this hotels barking to get out of their rooms. I would not recommend the hotel.

Good choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/17/08
Friendly service. Clean rooms. Secure. Convenient location and beach access. We received a great rate for the beginning of summer. I have now stayed here two years and no complaints.

Never Again
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/28/08
We made a reservation online for a room with king sized bed, pull out sofabed, smoking room. Instead we got a non smoking room without a sofa and 2 double beds because that was what they had left. I made reservations 2 months before the trip, definately not satisfied.

The 1st hotel we stayed in that had industrial bathrooms
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/15/08
It was our first visit in Virginia Beach When we checked in,I was the first one to go to the bathroom, when I did the flush,it made a noise that filled the room and made me run out the door. Then a year later,it became pricey.

Pet Frindly Holiday Inn
By Who's Your Daddy, 01/01/08
What luck! A pet friendly hotel - but not for long. Management told me that this property will become a Holiday Express and will not be pet friendly in 2008. So unfortunate! The staff was friendly, plenty of dogs; but rooms and hotel was clean, did not smell like a kennel. This was our New Year's Eve location for two nights. Holiday Inn will lose a lot of business by this stupid move to make this hotel non pet friendly!!!!!!!
