Hotel 31 near the Galleria, Houston

I took 3 students and 2 adults for the art awards at the Houston Rodeo. Convenient location . We had a great time. The pool and jacuzzi were nice, the rooms spacious and clean. Best of all the staff was wonderful. With the 3 young people using the pool, we went through the towles but they never complained.

I am currently staying in this place. The room isn't bad - it is what you should expect from a 50 dollar a night deal from hotels dot com. However - this morning I woke up to the unpleasant surprise of my passenger side car window being bashed in. Staff didn't care and seemed to be working more at keeping the knowledge from new guests checking in rather than helping me. They said they would call the police for me - they didn't. I asked for the manager - he "isn't in" today. I asked for a broom and they agreed - didn't get it. Eventually a very friendly janitor helped me bring my car around back and he vacuumed it out for me. I had checked other reviews on this hotel before coming and another mentioned a break in but I did not head its warning - please do not make that same mistake that I did.

We really liked this hotel, the room was a little small but very comfortable and very clean. The staff was always very friendly. A plus are the nice sized pool with kids pool and jacuzzi, the free high speed internet in each room and the free parking garage. The elevators didn't always seem to work right and there was no mini fridge in the room which bothered us most to just store some beverages in there. We liked the hotel, it was a good deal for a hotel close to the Galleria and in a great place to access everything in Houston.

I want to warn you about their bathroom. No tub, shower with no enclosure, water runs through to the bathroom floor. I actually slipped on the tiles and fell.

The hotel was clean and provided a solid basic room value.
