A nice boutique hotel
I don't know why the other reviewer gave this hotel one star. I went to over 14 hotels in Vientiane with the help of a local. I'm new to this review process but felt strongly enough about the posted reviews to post my own. The downside is that the Vansana is out of the way and tends to attract Thai and local families and businessmen. The rooms for $25 are twice the size of most standard (cheap) rooms. The floor and interior is real wood and cozy. The images don't do them justice. Some prefer $2 guesthouses or $14 square rooms with 12" TVs and some prefer $45 hotels that look like a Four Seasons - but aren't even close. There's also some new hotels that claim 4 stars closer to downtown. But this is the only hotel in Loa that fits the label of boutique. It has charm, personality, and you'll be able to sleep.
