Flamingo Motel & Tower, Panama City Beach

We went to PCB for our honeymoon and stayed in one of the Cabana rooms in Sept 2012. The Cabana rooms have easy access to the beach. I have stayed in the tower before and it is good just not at close to the beach. It is worth the extra money for a special trip. The staff was courteous and very nice. The hotel was clean and has a nice small kitchenette. The surroundings were clean and ground picked up. The staff seem to have put us away from the other occupied rooms when I thought was nice. The cleaning lady,Ms Anne, was nice and spoke to us briefly. She was just the sweetest lady. She did a great job cleaning our room too. The hotel is within 1 mile walking distance from the Pier and Pier Park shopping center.

My husband & I stayed here just this past weekend & really enjoyed it. It was our 17 yr anniversary & we had mentioned this to our cleaning lady the day before & the nxt day, while we were out, she left us a sweet note wishing us a Happy Anniversary. So sweet! We stayed in the Tower & I highly recommend doing so. The rooms our huge & the beds our soooo comfortable! We will continue to stay @ the Flamingo everytime we visit PCB!

My family of 4 (2 adults, 2 small children)stayed in the Cabana level the weekend before Memorial Day. We arrived at the Motel after midnight. The desk clerk charged me for the wrong room but caught her mistake and fixed it promptly. We had to load our luggage on a cart, push it around the pool, then carry it down the steps to our room which at the time was an inconvience. But waking the next morning to the gorgeous view from our room was worth it! Our room was very clean even though it showed numerous signs of wear and tear. The main thing I disliked the most about staying at the Flamingo was having to park across the street and cross with my young children to and from the hotel. The ladies at the front desk and the cleaning crew were wonderful and friendly the entire visit. We never had to ask for more towels either, they just magically appeared! Our room was a few steps onto the sand and then another few steps to the water. I would stay at the Flamingo again

i went to the lobby ask if they had a room to accomendate my family..two employees acted like they didn't want to be bothered..just got to panama no one saw my money but them within an hour of checking in "someone"came in my room..no forced entry even the police said that..is it coinsidence that the only room gotten into was mine nothing else was touched like luggage or my sisters purse..i think not they knew exactly where the money was..my kids and familys easter was a nightmare .no money for food gas or anything but the christian owners offered me nothing..god don't like ugly and he will provide for my family but i don't see how they sleep at night it cost my family 3400.00 to stay at the flamingo less than16 hrs no compassion what so ever towards my kids from employees or owners..what hotel has no cameras or criminal insurance?..that is neglegent on the owners part..my family vacation ruined due to their negligence

Not complaining about the stay ,just dissapointed with the view from our cabana room. i thought it would be just like in the pic but the beach has been raised and widened. The beach is as high as the room level now and i was expecting to see what is in the pic . Just My opinion . Nothing negative to say about the motel though. We are planning on coming back in August 2011....

MY WIF AND I STAY THERE E-TIME WE GO DOWN FOR A GETAWAY IT IS A WONDERFULPLACE 2 STAY AND ITS VERY CONVENIENT FOR US AS A COUPLE THE ROOMS ARE VERY CLEAN AND THE PEOPLE ARE VERY FRIENDLY GOING BACK NEXT MONTH AND WILL DEFINITELY STAY THERE

I have always heard, "You get what you pay for." So on a budget the Flamingo is communial living at its best. The staff does a good job working with what they have. The facility has wear and tear and the elevator was slow and like a oven inside. The pool was always cloudy. To get to the beach you have to walk thru a narrow path thru the weeds and drainage from the showers. We checked out a "Cabana Room" which is the same as a basement, the giveaway there was a box fan already running in the back room. The main hazard is having to park across the street. They need a pedistrian cross walk and light. Stay in the tower 2nd floor or higher which gives a little privacy, no more than 2 people to a room. The other residents( still trapped in the "70s) didnt seem to be the brightest bulbs. Smoking on the bacony, elevator and walkways. Basically PCB is way overcrowded. Stay north of Pier Park or south of Spinakers. Use 98 to circumvent the old beach road. If people would simply exit right, go to the next light then turn around instead of expecting traffic both ways to stop. People should pick up after themselves. I know this is asking alot but being on vacation dont mean leaving cans, bottle caps and butts on the beach. The best meal we had while there was breakfast at Mike's Diner. They dont have T-shirts, loud music or graffiti on the wall but the food is good.

Great staff, clean grounds and rooms, wonderful pools, sun deck is HUGE, showers by the beach access area.....location, location, location - Pier Park and great restaurants within easy walking distance....never have to move your car after you arrive! We have stayed with the Flamingo crew easily a couple of dozen times....never disappointed. Easily the best value for your money year-round. Simple, affordable, no-frills, and friendly.

i loved the room we were in . it was in a great location about mide way of everything. the people who ran the motel was very nice and helpfull. i would stay at this motel each time i go back to panama city beach. loved it.

We stay frequently stay here. We have never stayed across the street. The bars are more of an issue, I think, for those staying across the street and/or during college spring break weeks. On the beach side it is very quiet. The only time that it wouldn't be would be during popular spring break weeks. No one in their right mind goes to a popular beach during spring break with college kids and expects it to be quiet. Just don't go then. We go at other times and have found this hotel to be wonderful, the beaches clean and quiet, and VERY family friendly. BTW It's hard to trust a review with such deplorable grammar.
