Midtown Terrace Hotel, Houston

Well now it's kind of a half hotel and half nursing home for vets. It's fairly dirty and there's no amenities but the pool. However, the location is great, because it is right on a light rail stop. If you're only coming into Houston to go to the museum or the zoo, this is a good bet. However, if you prefer someplace with complimentary soaps that actually lather, showers that don't shift between burning and freezing, and a more hotel-like atmosphere, you would be better off ponying up the extra money, or paying half that to stay at a motel on the other side of the highway.
