Great Staff, Lousy Hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/11/11
The hotel looks like an abandoned mental hospital, with over grown plants and weeds, and pieces of plaster missing from the building. The interior is no better, with ancient peeling wallpaper, chunks of ceiling paint missing around the center piece in the lobby. Breakfast space is too small for a hotel of this capacity, and the counter setup was ridiculous. one is green, the other is a sandy beige, looks like a lot of hardwork was done to make them sit evenly but the aesthetic of it was completey ruined. The first room I was checked into was being serviced for bed bugs ( I work for an extermination company and I see this quite often). I almost left at this point but the front desk staff, there were two, were so friendly, apologetic and helpful, I didn't even mention the problem (it was being cleaned Im sure it was just left in order by accident). The young lady was so sweet, she even helped my wife bringing in her luggage, and the young man, who was the manager as I was surprised to see, was extremely helpful finding me directions, recommending an excellent restaurant, Bull & Bear Grill, must try if you are in the area. The maid staff were also fantastic, they brought me extra coffee and towels when I asked, and they did it quickly and pleasantly. I can tell this is a hardworking staff stuck with some cheap owners who could care less about the property and the people doing work for them.
