Econo Lodge, Springfield

Stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms were nice and clean. The front desk staff was really nice. The room service was excellent. Enjoyed our stay here. Next time this will be our stay again!

Mis-representaion on the web sight . States a hot tub/whirlpool available but you don't find out after you call that they are only in the suites. I had made my reservation online and called to confirm it and asked to make sure the hot tub was in service. NO, only in the suites. Too bad , to cancel a reservation it will cost you $25.00.

We have stayed at dozens of hotels over the years, and this was THE WORST ! We seen a strange man lurking in the hallways the first night (my wife was afraid to leave the room alone, even scared the dog!). Also, the door to a room 10 feet away from ours was left open at all times. This strange man kept wanting to shake my wife's hand. The next morning , as I was sitting on the bed in only a towel, there was a knock on the door. It was the maid service to clean the room, my wife told them we were fine and only needed fresh towels and an extra ashtray, and lo and behold, the strange hallway man was part of the maid service! The CREEPY man could easily fit into a horror movie. If I saw him outside my home, I'd call the police. Seeing as neither of them spoke ANY english, they came on in the room and preceded to clean it while my wife told them not to! When I called to ask the desk if this was normal I received a quick apology and that was it. I'm glad I wasnt in the tub at the time. The free breakfast was horrible, stale donuts and bread, had to ask for milk for cereal, no butter for toast but plenty of jelly, etc... Also, we paid extra for the "Bridal Suite"! What a joke, a bed with a canopy! This room was $100.00 dollars a night and in the end it was worth maybe $50.00 at the most. We couldn't even get ice out of the icemaker, I guess it was empty. There wasn't enough people staying there to empty an ice machine. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY LEAST FAVORITE PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!

I booked this hotel online before reading reviews. Needless to say I was not happy with all the bad reviews, but my reservation was not refundable. We went scared of what we would find. The hotel is well kept, the front desk clerk was very nice. The lobby was clean, and even had a separate area with tables for the free continental breakfast. Our room was clean. The beds were fine. The air conditioning worked like all other hotel systems. We were not hot or cold. The curtains closed out any light from the parking lot. The rest of the guests were middle-aged or older people on their way to Branson, so everything was very quiet. The free breakfast had three kinds of cereal, milk, juice, coffee, doughnuts, english muffins and oatmeal. The maid did a good job on the room, and was very nice when we asked for something. All staff we encountered was very helpful. The outdoor pool was closed for the season, but looked well-kept. My husband, two kids and myself stayed three nights and were thrilled at the super low price we paid for this hotel. Friends of ours stayed across the street and were not thrilled at the three bus loads of athletes staying there too.
