DO NOT STAY HERE

My wife and I stayed here on September 26, 2004. I'm in the Marine Corps and just returned from Iraq for what was supposed to be a relaxing get-away weekend that turned into a headache. There's no way to even rate this place. We've stayed in Ramadas before and never have we had such a DISGUSTING room. We arrived at 2 am, otherwise we would have left and found an alternate place to stay that night. We had reservations for 2 nights but found a hotel the next morning and took the loss on the second night as we prepaid through Travelocity. The hotel is far from the Riverwalk. The first room the took us to was supposed to be non-smoking but there were ashes all over the floor and the air conditioning unit-the room obviously hadn't been clean, the toliet in that room also did not flush. The manager took us to another room that was worse-there was mold all over the ceiling from obvious water leakage, there was no hot water, the carpet was black from filth, the furniture was falling apart, no alarm clock which is mentioned in the amenities-it was just plain disgusting. There wasn't a single other person staying at the hotel-which should have told us something. When we checked out they didn't seemed suprised that we left, I guess they're used to it by now. After this experience we will probaly never stay at a Ramada EVER again. We paid $60/night for our room($120 for 2 nights)-we found a room at the Homewood Suites(Hilton) right on the Riverwalk the next morning for $129/night and it was definitely worth the extra $60.
