aweful experience
By ,
our hotel stay on 9/21 at the Majestic hotel was very miserable. First off the room when we first got there was not as described on line. It did not have butler pantry,no fridge, newspaper & no micrwave. Check out time was 12:00 & it is 11:00 at the Majestic hotel in Chicago. Per the site eash suite has the above amenitys. We got to the hotel at around 3:30 checked in & went up to our room. Much to our dismay the room was terribly small & none of the described items in it. There was dust on the furnishings. When my husband returned from parking the car he came up to the room & we decided to go for a walk. As I walked past the window the upper pane which weighs roughly 40 pounds all of the sudden fell to the floor. I jumped out of the way before possibly being wounded. (I would hope the hotel staff recorded this) my husband immediatly called to the front desk to the clerk (uzee I believe was his name to report it) a man & 2 maids came to the room. The man got on the phone stating that he could not fix it. When my husband asked the one maid if this had happened before she said yes, but not with someone in the room. Uzee then upgraded us to a room that was described on this site. It was a nice room. Unfortunalty I awoke in the morning & my husband stated there were ants on the bed. I shot up & indeed there were about 8 ants in the bed. When after getting ready to leave we noticed ants in the bathroom also.A night in a quant Chicago Inn that was described turned into what could have been a hospital visit if I had walked 1 foot sooner than what I had. I would think twice before staying here.

Would never recommend this hotel
By ,
I recently stayed at the majestic for my honeymoon. We actually cancelled and left two days early because we were having such a horrible time. The location is horrible if you want to do anything other then see wrigley. They refuse to actually do anything for you. I called front desk twice and was basically ignored by the staff. If you have a car you have no where to park unless you want to pay 22 dollars over the 200 your paying to stay in the room itself. And thats nightly you actually have to request a pass to part about at least 2 miles from the hotel. While we were there the power went out and they did not even offer a discount for the inconvience. They are no where near actual downtown and the fees we paid for the cab and the bus service sent us well over budget. Overall i rate this the worst hotel experience i have had.

Beautiful Place
By ,
Loved It. Loved it. Loved it. The staff was terrific and the place was wonderful. Very clean and well maintained. Wrigley stadium was right around the corner and the Lake Front was righ there. Long walks on the beach with your loved one and a short cab ride to the MIracle MIle. Can't beat it.

Just what you need
By ,
I stayed here when my cousin was married. We had the entirely family booked in the hotel. The room was large enough and laid out so that a family could function without killing each other. The hotel was quiet and the lobby was a great area for family to sit and wait on stragglers. The hotel is within walking distance of the ballpark and several little cafe or restaurants around the area. Very convienient for those that want to walk around and explore the surroundings. Still need a taxi into Downtown though. The staff was friendly and did not seem to mind to have explain directions again and again for those of us that got lost.

Five Stars for Past Eight Years
By ,
We've been visiting this wonderful Chicago hotel once a year for eight years. It was a real find within easy/safe/friendly walking distance of Wrigleyville with parking less than two blocks away (unless you manage a spot along the residential street where it is located) and the walk back takes you past two grocery stores in the neighborhood for easy shopping, both with gourmet & wine sections. It's located right off Lake Shore Drive in a quiet elegant neighborhood. Yes, like all grand ladies she has her picadillos but they just add to the pleasure of staying there. I personally wouldn't use the small elevator but I'm claustrophobic. It has the feel of old world Europe and you can enjoy that peace and elegance in the midst of Chicago! We stayed there once during a North Chicago electrical outage and the staff were wonderful in making it pleasant. Several of the Iowa Cubbie players being brought up for the Big Show stay there, sometimes with family. I've seen several mothers/daughters and their American Girl dolls dressed alike heading out to the nearby American Girl Museum. For a real treat walk towards Lake Shore Drive, head south and take the jogging tunnel over to the lake, head back north and spend some time watching dogs playing in the lake at the Dog Park. Also you can't stop into the Majestic without a walk to the nearby Savin SweetRolls (head East to shopping area and turn south) for a fresh hot cinnamon bun. Driving Lake Shore is always a breeze and a beautiful start to your days adventures in Chicago. The Zoo is nearby for child friendly entertainment also. Several quaint churches nearby including one beautiful Temple (towards the lake and south a bit). Salvation Army Headquarters are located between Brompton and Wrigley field. The Majestic is our home in Chicago and we wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Try the weekday rates as they are more affordable and a third night can get you additional discount. Visit once and you'll visit often after that! Enjoy her!
