Park Inn Hotel, Hammondsport

I have never been so amazingly thrown back by the way my fiance and I were treated at this establishment, first was the 20 min wait to even get our table wiped off, then was the great hospitaliality (not) we were shown by the waitress/manager. Folks before planning a night of good food and good service please think twice about this place! We waited an hour before our food arrived, busy? yes they were but that busy? I think not! when I asked our waitress that we saw twice the whole time we were there if I could speak to someone in charge she said it was her so I explained my disappointment to her and heard "well we are busy SIr!" I expalained that I was paying for at least a smiling face and and nice hello, and good service? "she said we are busy!" then she said well I can take some off the bill.. I said fine.. so I went to pay the bill and she was there, so the bartender handed her the bill and she ran my card and came over to give it to me and she had not even reduced it! wow...I DO NOT recommend this dump and I WILL NEVER donate my money to it again!

Everything was great except for the ridiculously loud heater that banged about every three minutes throughout the day, which doesn't really become a problem until the night. Stayed for two nights and probably got about an hour's sleep each night. Nice room, bad furnace. A great place to stay in the summer, though.

My husband and I were very pleased with the service and friendliness of all involved in our stay @ the hotel. Place was clean, nicely decorated, with PLENTY of hot water, everything you would expect in an upper echelon chain hotel. Roadside parking around the square, which we thought would be a problem, but wasn't. Even though our room was situated above the bar, owner policy bar closes down @ 11PM so guests would get some sleep.We even took in a High School play, Little Women. Curtiss Museum just down the road.

You MUST have the Grape Cheesecake! How I wish I had the recipe! It is great!

It can,at times,be difficult to find a reasonably priced place to stay in this part of the finger lakes. We really enjoy Hammondsport and to find a place to stay right on the square as "cute" as the Park Inn makes any trip to the area just that much more enjoyable. It is a great value even if the great breakfast can be a bit chaotic. We've already made our reservations for our next trip to the area.

This weekend our family attended a wedding in the area and stayed at the hotel overnight. All of us, two adults and two teenagers, agree that everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were cozy, quaint and impeccably clean. The Queen sized beds and day beds were very comfortable. The TVs got a full selection of cable channels, there was plenty of hot water for showers, and the people (at the hotel, restaurant, bar, and Ice Cream Parlor) were all very nice and helpful. Lunch at the restaurant was delicious, and breakfast at the Ice Cream Parlor was even better. If we ever have occasion to visit the area again, we will surely choose to stay at the Park Inn Hotel.
