Better than I remembered

We stayed here frequently back in the '80s, been gone for a long time, and came back on vacation. It's much as we remembered it, but some things are better. The rooms are simple and spacious with high ceilings. The grounds are lush green, with lovely paths to walk, think, chat, or just be alone. Sometimes there are exhibits, concerts, or special events on the grounds. There is a playground for kids.
The best thing about the place is the restaurant-- always has been. The included breakfast is mind-boggling, almost worth the stay by itself. Dinners are of the highest European quality with a strong French influence. We ate there 3 of the 5 nights that we were in town, and were never disappointed. Extensive menu, highly professional staff, and one of the first smoke-free rooms in Germany.
