By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/5/08
Loved it, in 2007 my son Paul was part of the entertainment team (Proud mum) The rooms were clean fresh fruit every day, the meals were lovely (I put a bit of weight on) but it was so worth it. Thank you every one for making my holiday fanatstic, Hi to leighton and all the staff there, I'll be back

we went to the mayfair oct 2007, found it clean, friendly & helpfull.it is quite a walk to the bars about 15mins, but we hired a car anyway so we could do trips going back this year & taking kids & partners, would reccomend it but is better if you get car.has great pools & bar.

wanted to leave ASAP
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/24/07
I went to the Mayfair with my two boys aged 10 and 16. We arrived at 8pm to be met by the most intrusive of entertainment I have ever experienced, and this happened every night. adults and children running around with knickers on their heads! The boys who are very streetwise Londoners, looked at me and pulled faces. When we reached the self catering 'room' we had booked, I thought we had arrived at a 1970's prison cell. It was damp, dark and the furniture was tatty and falling to peices. There was no way I was going to prepare food in there. We approached the hotel along what I can only describe as Peckham High street. It was noisy, dirty and full of English burger bars. I also killed several 40mm + long cockroaches around the pool and in our room. Our solution was to get a car, which are very cheap to hire, and drive as far away from the hotel and surrounding area as we could. I would not recomend the Mayfair to anyone!!!

want to go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/22/07
Just got back from staying in the Mayfair, it was very nice and clean the hotel staff were very helpful when we asked to be moved we was moved within 2/3 hours very clean with the rooms being cleaned everyday apart from sundays. Was not near a nice beach but we got a cab to Coral Bay beach which did not cost alot and the staff were only to glad to phone the cab for you. we did have to walk down to the harbour which was about a 15/20 min walk to get to bar street. had a nice old market where you can buy lots of things but it is quite expensive. The chef at the hotel was brilliant was always standing around to greet everyone and the food was really good value with a nice selection.

Me and 5 girlfriends have just returned home from a fantasic week at the Mayfair hotel!! We could not fault the hotel at all we had a huge 2 bedroom apartment which was great! The pools and pool bars we're lovely and the staff we're not only friendly and helpful but also gorgeous, we ended up going out in bar street on one occasion with our two favorite waiters Chris (beautiful blue eyes) and Dani (such a cutie)!! Lets just say it was a memorable evening!! We also thought the hotel entertainment put on by the reps was ace!! Paul and Laiten were great!! Loved the Dirty Dancing performance!! Would recomend this hotel to anyone!! Great time for all!! Hope to go back soon!!! Sarah & the girls, Devon, England

food very poor
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/30/07
the hotel was nice , found the service very slow, the food is of a low standard, mostly cold or warm [the perfect combination for food poisoning] i did get that and had not eaten else where, watch one day they were cooking on the b-b-q, that was at 16-30, loads of pork chicken , the lot , it was then served up at 19-00 to 21-00 in the dining room, only warm, my wife had a tuna salad for lunch with brown lettuce, if you do go steer clear of all their food, we paid for half board and ate out , and that proved very costly, its a 15 min walk from bar st, 20min walk from kings road none wer very busy

Well where can I start? I have no fault in this hotel whatsoever. I may only be young but it was still the best holiday I have EVER had. Everything there is great, and basically I couldn't fault anything. The waiters are great!! They are friendly and you could spend most of the day talking to them (well in fact I did!) All of the staff are lovely and willing to help. Me and my friend, who went with out parents had the best time ever. However I must say that the best waiters of all time have got to be: Mike, George, George S and Costas. They were lovely and helped us out a lot. I miss them but also keep in touch with them. There is also lots of other friendly people walking about including the guy that hoovers the pool, Alex and the boy who walks about with bin bags. Does anyone know his name? If so...comment. Well great time and experience. Thinking about moving out there as soon as I'm old enough. Love it. Great kids entertainment and pools. Food was great, chef so friendly!! Basically just go there and have a ball! Reccommend it to anybody and everybody.

Would not return
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/30/06
Both myself and partner arrived at the Mayfair Apartments on 22nd October 2006. Upon arrival, at 1700hrs, we were told that our room was not ready. Alarm bells were ringing as guests must check out by 12pm. WE finally got the keys at 1800hrs and were horrified by the room that met us. It was NOTHING like the brocure pictures in that it looked like an early seventies throw back. As for the cleanliness it had taken them an hour or more to throw domestos around the room to make it appear clean. the whole apartment was dark and dank and we moved out immeadiately to another complex. I wish to add that myself and partner are by no way snobs, we moved to a studio apartment which had similar features to the apartment at mayfair but was much cleaner, brighter and fresher and in a much better location. We weren't the only people to want to leave, as we were arranging a move another couple had paid an extra £1500 to move somewhere more suitable. In closing i would summise that if you are lucky enough to be placed into the newly refurbished rooms then you should from what we saw have no concerns but if you should be unlucky enough to be accomodated in one of the sets from the sweeney (70's cop show) then a move is your best option. If you do require a move and the staff atempt to charge you a cancellation fee DO NOT PAY IT!!!!!!!! it is £75 and if you merely refuse there is sweet f.a they can do. Enjoy the holiday that you book!
