rude receptionist
By Jerome, 11/05/09
I just phoned Lion's Inn to check on the rates, and as the conversation went with the receptionist he was asking what I was needing in the way of accomodation; it sounded like he was setting up a reservation, and I interrupted him to say I was looking for rates. He began to speak to me like an insolent child, careful to use the word "mam'm." I made a mistake in communication but did not deserve the seething anger that was under his breath. I will NEVER stay there, and I have NEVER been spoken to in that manner. He has no tolerance or understanding of people.

DO NOT STAY HERE
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/15/09
We are from out of town and we booked 3 nights at the motel. When we got there it was not at all what the pictures showed. There was dried food on the microwave ( I didn't look inside!!) and around the sink. The curtains were about 6 light panels that did not meet and left gaps between each panel. Nick was not friendly at all. We stayed a few minutes and decided to leave and offered to pay for the one night since it was late. He said that we needed to pay for all 3 nights since it was a package, and has charged our credit card for the 3 nights. We are having to go through our card company to dispute the charges. Stay away!!

nHAPPY WE STAYED!!!!!
By Eric, 07/28/09
LLiked everything! Disliked nothing!! My girlfiend and I reserved a room at the Lion, and honestly did not expect much. To our surprise..we were delighted! "Nick" was extremely personable and took measures to make sure we were well taken care of! The room was SO quaint and clean...I couldn't have asked for more...ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have stayed in many a fancy hotels for four times as much and had better service and a cleaner more comfortable room than they. I would recommend LIONS INN to anyone in search of a just plain GOOD all around place to stay the night!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS NICK! We will be back to visit soon! Connie and Suzie (7-24-09)

It's great!!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/22/09
It's a really good place to stay. First, if you don't have a car, it's so easy to take a bus because the bus stop is just outside of the motel. Plus that bus line is the busiest one in Bellingham. You can go anywhere easily. Second, the service is awsome. The manager is super nice. He helped us a lot when we stayed there. He always tried to help us as much as he could whatever our problems are!!! The last but not the least, the room was good. The bed was comfortable and everything in the room was new. They offer everything we need. If I visit Bellingham agian, Lions would be my first choice to stay.

Bed and Breakfast Quality
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/18/09
What can I say... totally charming! I came here absolutely road weary with my cat and her kitten and my family and the managers treated us with graciousness and warmth! They don't just tolerate pets, they are animal lovers! The room is spotless. The decorations are what I would be happy to find in a good bed and breakfast. The neighborhood is away from the freeway and charming. Many good restaurants nearby and downtown just a few blocks away on a fast bus line. There is nowhere else I would look to stay in Bellingham.

Service above & beyond
By fly by night, 07/06/09
From the moment the owner/manager greeted us (we were fresh off of a flight at bedtime), it was clear to me that he was a very warm person, and we were indeed extremely well taken care of and felt very at home. He attended to everything meticulously, not allowing me to haul my own suitcase, etc. Upon checkout, when it was time for us to call a cab, he went beyond what was due to us and insisted on arranging our transportation himself, which then cost us nothing. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean - we'd been upgraded to a suite with kitchenette for a small amount. It's perfectly situated close to downtown, but not too close, with a lovely lawn and gazebo out front, rather than the common concrete/highways that front many motels/inns. All in all, I'd happily give this place rave reviews all over the web. As for any unhappy folks that have recently posted their reviews, all I can say is I would question their attitudes/behaviour and how it contributed to their experience. Life is what we make it - and Nick at the Lion's Inn helped make our brief stay in Bellingham pleasantly memorable!

Great place to stay!
By Karen, 07/06/09
This was a wonderful experience for me. I stayed four nights; the room was perfect for one person (although they do have larger rooms), recently remodeled and very clean. The manager was very helpful and even loaned me his hotpot (plus he gave me a supply of teabags, sugar, lemon, a mug and spoon!) so I could have hot tea every morning. The room had a refrigerator and a microwave with a nice little table and chairs. It was close to downtown; I walked everyday, but there is a bus stop right in front of the motel. Another nice touch-a gazebo to sit in and use the free wi-fi or relax with a cup of tea. Very affordable; I would recommend this to anyone wanting to visit Bellingham.

I have stayed here 12 times
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/02/09
The Lions Inn Motel is a clean, quiet, inexpensive, well-managed motel. I come to Bellingham 3 times a year for soccer tournaments. For the last 4 years I have stayed here each time - a total of 12 times. I can strongly recommend the Lions Inn Motel. Over the last few years, they have redecorated the rooms and, in addition to being clean, quiet, and inexpensive, the rooms are quite modern.
