The El Dorado Motel, Twain Harte

we Stayed at the Eldorado and were very suprised with the room we had esp. for what we had to pay, $85.00 we got a room with 2 seperate bedrooms plus a kitchenet, what a deal!! The pool and spa were 15 feet from our door, it really was a deal!

I was thrilled to find a place at such a great value at such short notice, I reserved my room 1 week in advance for 1 queen bed. When we arrived they charged my credit card 86.30 which was not what i had reserved my quote was 67.40 or so. So when ?'d they stated someone changed your room this morning and there was nothing they could do they was no other rooms available. I never called and changed anything. So we get to our room there was two queen beds. Because they switched my orginal reservation, they gave me a room with 2 beds and charged me for it. I again complained that I should have not been charged for their mistake. Its been almost 1 week and I have called several times to get this resolved with absolutely no call back. I would never recommend this place to anyone. Take your money down the street to a place that wont rip you off! My family had no problems with other hotets in the area. Sincerely, a very upset customer!!!!!!!

The EL Dorado is a great choice close to Dodge Ridge ski resort. The rooms are spacious and clean. Most have been remodeled and updated nicely under apparent new ownership. The washer and dryer comes in handy after a day on the slopes, as does the bubbly spa. The rooms even have a microwave/fridge and coffee. Much more available here than anywhere else in Twain Harte for the price. Walking distance to cozy restaurants and a bar. I'll be returning definately now that I've found it.

Twain Harte is a lovely little town, and im sure that we will become "regulars" at the el dorado motel. The rates are well below all of the other motels we checked with. The rooms were very clean, as were the grounds and pool/spa area. The fridge and micro were very handy for the kids. We even had sattelite t.v. I would definatly recomend the el dorado to anyone looking for a nice peaceful place to stay!!

I was snowed in at Dodge Ridge, so got a ride into Twain Harte. This was the only hotel that had accomodation. The price was unbelievably low, but it was easy to see why. The rooms were quite shabby, the mattress and the blankets were quite ordinary. I was amazed to find a microwave and a refrigerator in the room, both in fairly bad shape, but at this price, how can you complain when even hotels that charge $250 don't have these. It's walking distance from downtown, but the town itself is quite sleepy and not worth a visit... unless you were snowed in like I was!
