My parents will never go back.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 03/30/09
I myself did not stay here. My parents did. It was just to be a nice night from home. It ended up being anything but that. The heat was not on when they got there. It was allegedly turned on, but when my father finely had enough and couldnt take it at like 1 am they came hom and it never did get warm in there. The beds were awful. the sheets ans blankets were covered in cigarette burn holes. that is disgusting. the had to call for a tv remote which took forever to get there. There was not one thing about the place that was enjoyable for them. they just came home. I told them they should have asked for their money back , but they are to nice to do that. I seriously hope this place plans on some improvements in the near future. And it was money wasted.

Good for the money
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/23/07
This is a nice Motel, well located. The owner has a lot more character than the building itself. Inside, the rooms may look a bit old, but they are pleasant. The cleanliness of the place was irreproachable, especially in the bathroom. Talk to the owner; he appeared a bit rough on the edges at first, but he turned out to be a very amicable and genuine person. Murphy Inn is ideal for small budgets. I would go back.

Great long weekend
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/21/07
Rooms were clean and tidy. The people working there were friendly and provided prompt service as requested. Compared to other facilities Murphy's inn was close to shopping and a 24 hour walmart and best of all very affordable.

Best hotel for price and location!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 05/25/07
I am originally from Windber, PA and stay at Murphy Inn when I visit. The staff is helpful, rooms were fairly priced, great location. However, the rooms are in need of some upgrades.

Excellent Place to Stay.
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 09/29/06
This hotel is excellent, great location, close to restaurants, shopping, industrial/business park, and minutes from downtown. The staff are friendly, and very helpful. The rooms are great, and at a fantastic value. The suites are incredible for an extended stay. I'd suggest checking this place out, before you make your decision on hotels in Johnstown.

Disappointed
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/20/06
I stayed for a little over a week. I felt like I was being watched the whole time and had absouletly no privacy what so ever. There was a huge mix up when I checked in on the price I was quoted when the reservation was made and what they were going to try and charge me. I was there during one of the colder months and the heater quit working in my room, I was moved to another room that wasn't very clean. I even had to vacuum it myself... My biggest complaint though would have to be the fact that I just felt that I had no privacy what so ever. When I stay somewhere I don't want to feel like I need a hall pass to leave or answer to someone about my coming and goings... I'm on vacation!!!!

I didnt like the fact that i could not have guest in my room. My room smelled like dog. The custumer service person had an additude. The cleaness thing was the bathroom.
