dont judge by its looks
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 01/06/09
out of towners BEWARE.no broshures for resteraunts, directions anywhere or anything helpful.no microwave,no coffee machine and continental breakfast consist of a donut and coffee. for a hotel on the navy broshure, you would think they would be more prepared for out of towners.from 1-10 they get a 5

Wasn't worth all the cost
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
I went to Chicago to see my sister's bootcamp graduation. We saw the rates at the Red Carpet Inn and thought it couldn't be too bad; I beg to differ. Anytime I visited the frontdesk, no one was there; an in-room hair dryer was not supplied; and the continental breakfast was hard doughnuts and what was supposed-to-be coffee (grounds and all included). We had 3 people staying in one room for three nights for $240. We had to buy a hair dryer for 20 dollars at the nearest Walgreens (about 20 miles away) and spend an unknown amount of money for breakfast at McDonalds, which was more satisfying than the bland variety of stale doughnuts. Luckily, recruits only have to graduate once. We would not return to this hotel.

Corteous, attentive and well kept; will return
By Zenaida, 05/26/08
Stayed for son's Navy graduation.Comfortable room, clean and convenient. Free shuttle service shuttle to graduation was on time and hotel staff make us aware of Base regulations. However, the trip back could have been more organized. Hotel staff were very helpful in assisting us with last minute items like a blower and scissors. Flanagan's Rest is within hotel perimeter as well as a Convenience Store at the gas station. McDonalds is also nearby. It is my understanding that this is one of the most economic hotels closest to the Base. Since so many families stay for graduation, you also take advantage of supportive environment. Donuts, coffee and juice in the mornings is a convenient freebie. Will stay again when visiting my son.

Very comfortable
By Charlene, 06/17/07
We stayed here on 06/08/07 thru 06/11/07 while attending grandson's graduation. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Staff was very friendly and accomodating. Being a mile from the base was a big plus. Our flight didn't get into Chicago O'Hare (because of weather) until 4:00 am, we got to the motel at 5:30 am, the management extended our check out time to compensate and accomodate our afternoon flight out of O'Hare. Would definitely stay here again if the occasion arises. By the way, the whole weekend was awesome. Young family

Terrible!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/29/06
I will never ever stay at a Red Carpet Inn again after my stay at this one. The shower had filthy stains in it, and that is just the start. What really mad me mad was when I tried to explain to the very unfriendly staff that the wirleless internet that they supposedly have wasn't working, unfriendly got to rude. The offered no help or no apologies. I think all they care about is getting your money at check-in.

Had a great time
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/04/06
I really enjoyed that the staff was friendly and very attentive to our needs in the room. They were quick but thoughrough when cleaning the room. The only thing I did not like was the selection that they had for their breakfast... I was expecting a little more than what they had. But overall, the room was great, friendly staff, and I enjoyed my stay very much.

Wont go back
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/06/06
The only good thing about this place was it was close to the Navy Recruit Center & the staff was nice. The Price was outrageous, the bathrooms were dirty, the beds felt like sleeping on wood (mattresses were old), the floors were dirty, bed spreed was dirty and smelled.

Would recomend!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 02/02/06
The motel staff was very, very helpful with everything we ask of them. It is the closest motel to Great Lakes Navel Traning Center. We got 15" of snow second nite and the parking lot was cleared as best they could. Good Value.
