Boardwalk Resort Hotel and Villas, Virginia Beach

We booked an ocean front suite for $600 for two nights, they gave us this tiny little crammed room in a corner behind two doors! They did have an on site restaurant but you have to get it as take out and go pick it up! Which you can do at a million of the restaurants on Atlantic that serve much better food. We were carrying our bags out to the car and at 12:01 and since we weren't out at exactly 12 they charged us an additional 100 dollars for less then ten minutes! The manager was ignorant and unsympathetic to our needs/frustrations about the room. I will never stay at another golden key resort again in my life and think you should save your money and stay at the comfort inn close by ... it's beautiful. Oh! it doesnt even have a front entrance you have to walk through the parking lot and almost get hit by a car 4 times a day! How impersonal is it to not have someone greet you when entering a hotel. Me and 2 other couples arrived at the same time and were lost going in every direction trying to find the front desk ... vacation should be a lot simpler and less stressful.

I come every year and just adore the view from the balcony and the great location. We love to sit out and watch the dolphins. The units are housekeeping with fully stocked kitchens and no matter where you are in the one bedroom unit, you have a gorgeous ocean view! I love eating at Rockfish. We've tried every other restaurant in VB and Rockfish is the best in that price range. We also like the buffet Captain's Galley, just down the street. Cheap, but the crab is excellent. The jacuzzi tub feels great after a busy day on the beach. You can't beat Boardwalk's location, walking distance to everything, the fishing pier, Rudee Inlet, etc. Some of the other reviews sound like they were written about a different resort. Boardwalk's office is downstairs, along with an indoor pool, fitness center and the Rockfish restaurant. Guests at Boardwalk are allowed one parking space, you can leave additional vehicles down the street at the public garages. I go to Virginia Beach to relax and I've always achieved a very mellow state while staying at the Boardwalk. I recommend it!

I thought the location of the resort was great, but everything was "just okay". I didn't like having the reception office across the street from the resort. I also didn't like not having an actual restaurant (not cafe) or gym in the building we stayed in. It was rather inconvenient for me. If I had know that prior to, my fiance and I would've stayed elsewhere. Pick the ocean front rooms if you want a decent view.

i love it and its close to the highway for easy getaway , plus you can see the water from your window to really set the mood. and the jacuzzi in your bed room is a big help with the ladies.

It was beautiful and convienient to everything in the area. I truly enjoyed my experience. The service is fantastic, the facility is right in the middle of the exciting activities and nightlife. Very clean, very nice.

Recently, my family and I traveled to Virginia Beach and overall we were thoroughly pleased. Of the things we liked, Number 1 was location. It was excellent! The villa was right there on the boardwalk and beach. We easily had access to all the hottest restaurants including the Rockfish. And when we didnt want to go to the beach, the swimming pool was always available. Number 2 was the rooms. Each room had a DVD player and nice size tv's for a vacation villa. I cant tell you how many times we've been on vacation and had tv troubles. Anyways, the 2nd bedroom was very spacious with its very own amenities. Toaster, Fridge, Microwave, etc. The kitchen was beautiful! Nice view of the beach. One problem was that there wasnt a internet connection. But in conclusion, Staying Here Is a Must!!!! We Will Be Back!

My family & I have been vacationing in VA Beach for the past 5 years & I must say The Boardwalk Resort was the most satisfying of all the places we've stayed in the past. The location is perfect. Everything is at your fingertips - Beach, Shopping, Restaurants, Night Life, Recreation. It was great. Don't believe the reviews of the noise. Not so!! We had no problems at all with not being able to sleep. The accomdations were great! We rented a 1 BR suite & it was plenty large for my family of 4. Modern, clean & spacious. Nice size kitchen & dining area w/lots of room to eat & cook. Not cramped like some units we've rented in the past. In the living area they had a large sectional sofa (w/pull out bed) & chair, w/built in TV. The master suite was beautiful with a pull out couch & built in TV/DVD. The staff at The Boardwalk was always friendly, from the front desk to the maintenance personnel. Very professional & courteous. We had a problem with our AC unit freezing up. I called down to the desk & in a matter of 5 minutes someone was there to fix it. Another plus was the on-site restaurant - The Rockfish. Very good & very convenient. I highly recommend this property for the family that like choices while vacationing but also like to enjoy comfort & relaxation.

We had a great vacation at this hotel! We loved our room, it was clean and well stocked! There were no pillows on the back of the couch for comfort though! The pull out mattress in the bedroom was a little rough!! My 2 little boys love the Jaccuzi and the indoor pool! We walked the shops right out in front a lot too! Rock Fish was good, but over priced! We can not wait to go back again someday, when we have lots of money to spend on the nice room!! We paid a high price for comfort, but it was worth it!!

I actually never got to stay at the Boardwalk Resort even though I made reservations there for a long weekend. The property lied to me when I called from out of town and asked if they had any storm damage. They said that all of the rooms were operable and that my room was ready. Two hours later, upon arrival, they had to tell me that they were moving me to a different hotel because my room had sustained serious water damage and would not be ready until the next day, if then. When we returned to the hotel to finally make good on our reservation the front desk clerk asked "who told you that you would have a room for tonight?". No apology, no service, not even a smile. They then proceeded to tell me that "lots of people make reservations and that this wasn't a guarantee". After they double charged me for a room that I never had, I told them to credit my card and cancel my reservation. The whole experience was absolutely horrible and assuredly will happen again.

We are owners who were staying here for our first year. We were a little concerned on reviews we were reading, but we had a good experience. We did not have any trouble with our room or services. It was just the two of us, so I can see if we had guests how the open bathroom to the bedroom would of been an issue. You can't beat a location that is right on the boardwalk in the heart of everything. We would recommend this to anyone.
