Heron Inn, The, La Conner

My partner and I have been to La Conner several times and stayed at other places. From the outside, and from their website, the Heron seems like a great place...that's misleading. None of the "add-ons" they offer on the website exist...they need to update the site. The rooms are small...even the suites. There was no soap or shampoo in the rooms. The place smells moldy...probably from the "spa". The breakfasts were small and uninteresting, with no meat - not hearty like the Wild Iris. The staff was indifferent at best - no service at breakfast, and rarely there during the day or early evening. For a similar price you can stay at the much warmer, friendly, helpful, roomy Wild Iris or the more hotel like Channel Lodge...don't waste your money on this place!
