Worse Hotel ever
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 5/10/11
The people working there are very rude! They give you one price on the phone and when its time to check out its a different price! I found bugs in the bathroom, the bedding stunk, you could tell the heavy blanket doesnt get washed...The floors were dirty...I couldnt believe the people who work there..I asked for the manager and they tolld me they had no way of getting ahold of them, so they sure dont care about the people staying there, I asked for decaf coffee and I never got it...It was the worse hotl I have ever stayed in.

NEVER AGAIN!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 11/6/10
I like how the site says "Newly remodeled" but the only thing that's actually remodeled is the lobby. I don't know what was most charming, the blood stain on the lumpy pillows or the cigarette burns on the blankets.

This was our first time to this hotel and my fiancee and I were very impressed. The room was very clean and the suites are awesome and priced very fair. This will be our place to stay when in this area again. The staff was also very helpful.

Disappointed
By Bruce, 1/30/07
Reading most of the reviews I was looking forward to our recent stay. Didn't realize this was a motel built 60s style. Outside entrance to your room, as well as a long walk outside to the lobby and swimming pool. Rooms were tiny which was a major drawback. Bathroom and sink area also tiny. Beds were nice and firm. Cleanliness was average and the heating and cooling system was a bit annoying while sleeping. The lobby and bar area was very nice and worthy of the remodeling done. Nice plasma screens and friendly bar. The free breakfast wasn't impressive. The loacation is very good , minutes to the outlet mall and about 15 minutes to Frankenmuth. The entrance in and out of the parking lot leaves some to be desired and I was wondering whether there was another with easier access.

We will come back every year!
By Cynthia, 11/15/06
We booked three different rooms in the new section of this hotel for ourselves, and other family members. We only stayed one night, but our stay was quite enjoyable. The rooms were clean, the continental breakfast was great, and the staff was very, very pleasant. We plan on coming back every year, and this will be our first choice of hotels to stay at.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/06
When we checked in to this hotel we were not told that all rooms were non-smoking. while we are respectful of others and smoked outside of the windows. After paying way too much for the room we were assessed many more charges than customary. A one night stay for four adults, two children and our small dogs, cost a total of $377.40 This is due to the fees assessed by this hotel. We were assessed a fee for pets that was not told to us at check in as well as not being told until finding on my bank statement that i had been charges the additional charges. The ammeneties were not all that nice and cleanliness leaves much to be desired. There were dead bugs in the corners of the bathroom as well as smashed spiders on the walls. We had two of our dogs confiscated and taken into the office while we were out trying to enjoy the area. a note was left on the door. We then were told that if we wanted to go out we'd have to take our pets to a kennel. the kennel closed at 6:00 pm and was not to reopen until the next day so we'd have to leave them there. That was not to be an option. We were also told that there was a law about leaving your pets in a car. after calling the local police we found that to be untrue. The law only applies to inclimate weather conditions. We were told that if our pets made any more noise and they had any complaints then we would be responsible for any discounts that were tto be given to any guests. Nothing was said when we complained about being woke up by children at 6 am running and screaming in the halls. The breakfast that is included in the stay is a JOKE waffles and all high carb foods nothing worth eating. We had to eat at another restaurant further spending. We were in a bind being that our motorhome had broken down and was in need of repair so we had no choice in accomodations. This hotel was the only option to us. Had we known all of the bad sides to this hotel, I would never have stayed there and will definately not again. One week after checking out i realized that they had charged my credit card for an additional fee of 50.00 when i called and inquired as to what it was i was informed that we were told it was a non-smoking hotel and we smoked and that the room was filled with smoke Hmmmmmmmmm find that funny since we were outside the room, yes the window was open and we had non-smokers with us as well we did use a spray and none of us could smell smoke at all. however they said it was so bad that the maintenance man that was a smoker would not enter. this is nothing but a lie and this hotel is nothing but a farce... Stay way away from this hotel unless you want to be lied to and charged. the rooms are so cramped that the desk is hanging over the bed and the person that is on that side has to be careful not to bust their head on the corner of the desk.

If you're a pet owner-DEFINITELY stay here!
I just recently stayed here twice with my dog. yes, there is a 25.00 surcharge for bringing your pet, but their description as being "pet friendly" is an understatement! They treated my dog as part of my family. they had accomodations (large pet run) for her, and she was able to accompany me anywhere in the hotel! The hotel employee's were EXTREMELY friendly & accommodating, to both my pup & I. My girl & I will definitely return.

Bait and switch
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 9/5/06
My wife and I picked this motel based on 1)closeness to both Birch Run and Frankenmuth, and 2)that we could have an in-room whirlpool for my back and right hip at the end of the day. Trying to book the room, which showed available on the web site, was impossible: the reservation would not 'take' on line. I then called the 800# listed and was never told it was a third-party booking firm. I found this out when the room charges hit my VISA and we were still a couple of weeks away from our stay. When we arrived, the desk clerk said there were no whirlpool rooms. After my disgust showed itself, we were given a ticket for a free pizza: big deal! The room we were given was way too small for two adults. This will be our last experience with a Best Western.
