The Lodge at Chalk Hill, Chalkhill

I stayed here three times, each of so in October (07-09) to see the fall foliage. The location is great, close to everything that you would want to see or do in the area and being "on the mountain". There are a couple of diners nearby but I usually went down to Uniontown to go shopping and eat. Most of the rooms have a patio that faces north overlooking a pond where you might be able to see some wildlife. On the south part of the property are some trails that lead into the woods. I honestly love this place but can do without the very rude owners who run it. Upon my arrival in 08 I misplaced the coupon that I received the year before (good for 2008) and while I had stated that I obtained the coupon then, not having it (now) didn't get me the bonus and then I was yelled at. After checking in to the room, I decided to walk back up and make amends with the woman, who yelled at me some more. That said, there are probably other staff who can take care of what you need. Rates are a little pricey, but you are in a fine location. Rooms are decently sized and have a microwave and small fridge. Despite the owners' rudeness I recommend this place for all the other reasons.

The lodge had a nice lake in the front and rooms were overlooking the lake. the linens and bed sheets were clean with refreshin smell including the bathrooms. the room had a refrigerator and microwave and tv. its a nice peaceful getaway from the busy life in the city. it is close to ohiopyle statepark which is known for whitewater rafting. Me and my family went for rafting in july 2010 and stayed there for two nights. Great value for the money you spend and staff was very kind and helpful. Will definitely recommend to other friends n family..

Had an amazing time staying at the Lodge. Very friend staff and rooms were very clean with private decks. Continental breakfast was a great addition. Was closer to ohiopyle n other places we visited in area and affordable rates. Definitely will recommend my buddies n family to stay at Lodge.

We stayed at the lodge in end of Jan 2010 and had such a wonderful time. Was closeby to major area we visited and definately had great time skii. Room was very affordable and very clean. Not a resort so don't expect great amenities; however, addition continental breakfast was amazing. Friendly staff with great service. Would definately recommend it other people visiting the area for an outdoor gateway and will definately recommend it to friends and family.

The staff is terrible, the rooms smell and there was mold around the bathing area. We saw mouse droppings next to the cereal container.

This was an older facility but neat and clean. There is a cute little winery within walking distance. The lodge was simple but what they did they did well. The staff was well inform ed on what was in the ara for tourists and local good dining spots.

The room was so clean! It had a small microwave and frig which was great for our pop and popcorn! It was cozy and quiet. Spent all morning sitting on the deck off my room, just relaxing. Great location. Would be great for multiple families traveling together.
