This place is a gamble each night!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/10
One of the reviewers called it a "halfway house"! You should see the characters that hang out in the lobby in the morning! I have stayed at this motel over 30 times while working a job in the area. Some nights the hallways reek of marijuana smoke, some nights I was woken up several times by the outside doors being slammed shut. On more than one occasion I awoke to drunk couples fighting in the hallway or room. Other nights everything is fine and the place is quite peaceful! During one stay a bunch of kids had a drinking party in one of the rooms...the parking lot was littered with cans and bottles and I know most of the kids were underaged! On the plus side... even though most of the rooms look like they were remodeled by some amateur that just doesn't care, the housekeeping staff works hard to keep them clean. It is located in a slimy part of town so it seems to attract bums and low-lifes. The management seems perfectly fine with letting them stay. One of the reviewers called it a "halfway house"! Noisy location
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/31/09
Located next to highway and on-ramp. Road noise excessive. You will need to bring your own hair dryer, alarm clock and shampoo.

Hotel or Halfway House?
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/17/08
Hotel or Halfway House? I was greeted for an entire week at the door by Jaba the Hut bumming smokes. The room was filthy with a con-caving mattress to go along with no towels or shampoo. The bathroom seeped smoke from the rooms around. The cleaning staff did not change the bedding once the entire stay. The carpet in the room was not only filthy (according to my socks) it was also sticky. Bikes were abundant for the many long term guest without vehicles. The last night of the stay a young out of it gal sat on the door way step crying and yelling for who knows what or who. I suggest staying anyplace but here.

Nice place if you are healthy
By Kel, 5/9/08
Stayed there for a month but had a couple of medical calls and the managment had a fit. They through me out. Giveing a pro-rate pay back for unused days. SO if your health you can stay if youhave medical problems I wouldn't recomend it.

Would Not Stay Again
We had 2 rooms reserved. One was alright, but the other one first given to us had not been cleaned yet from the previous users...and we checked in at 9:30pm! We then were assigned another room, which was ALSO dirty and had not been cleaned. The third room assignment had finally been cleaned, but there was no compensation or anything for the room conditions. It was an uncomfortable stay after having 2 unprepared rooms and the rooms we ended up staying in were not amazing by anymeans. Would not stay here again.

Loves The Hotel
By DDA55407, 1/25/07
I LOVE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE. EVERYONE AT THE FRONT DESK WAS NICE AND HELPFUL I HAVE NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT THIS HOTEL AT ALL. SEEING AS THOUGH IT WAS MY SECOND TYME IN MADISON AND ALSO MY SECOND TYME MAKING RESERVATIONS AT THAT HOTEL. I ORIGINALLY SLATED TO STAY 2 NIGHTS BUT MY GIRLFRIEND WANTED TO COME TO MILWAUKEE TO CELEBRATE HER BIRTHDAY WITH FRIENDS AND FAMILY SO YA KNOW I COULD NOT BE MADD AT HER FOR THAT. SO I ORIGNIALLY SPENT LIKE 50.00 TAX INCLUDED FOR 1 NIGHT OF SERVICE. BUT THE ROADSTAR INN IS DEFINATELY A PLACE OF THE NICEST CLEANIEST FRIENDLIEST PLACES I HAVE EVER VISITED IN MADISON WISCONSIN TBANK YOU FOR YOUR GREAT SERVICE AND HOSPITALITY 1 LOYAL CUSTOMER DEREK ANDERSON
