Melody Lane Inn, Branson

Had booked several months in advance and asked for a lower level room due to just having had hip surgery. Was given room on upper level at back and had to walk up enormous hill to get to front of hotel. Room clean except chairs had lots of stains. When talking to "manager" who I found out later was not the manager, he kept saying but these rooms have new comforters and new carpet. I don't care about comforters or carpet just give me the room that I was assured that I would get. Staff at desk rude at night, ok during day.

I have stayed at Melody Lane Inn 4 times in the last year and I am going again tonight. I have always experienced friendly staff and clean rooms. There is new carpet in all rooms, draperies and bedding new bedding are to be in by Jan 09. For the price, it is clean and easy. Location is close to everything on the strip and very close to the Branson Landing.

Stayed a few times before. Went back in June. The desk clerk was the most rude person I have ever seen in a business like this. She should be fired. There was several people there trying to check in at the same time, she was rude to everyone and people were talking about it as they waited.

Nightmare! No water for half a day (8/15/07), and no apology! Breakfast exceptionally bad, stale cereal, toast, and make your own waffle (with 60 senior citizens waiting in front of you!) No iron, no hair dryer, avoid it at ANY price!

We've stayed at Melody Lane for years.. this year was a great disappointment. It's under new management.. we thought we were safe prepaying for three nights online... expensive mistake. We left after one night and lost our money. We were in a filthy room and when we complained, the desk clerk volunteered to change our sheets! I sure hope those sheets were changed BEFORE we got there! Anyway, I sent an email to the management and three weeks later, no response AT ALL! Don't prepay here!

It takes only two words to describe this place. Roach Motel. The bathroom floor had pubic hair all over. I kept my shoes on the whole time I was in the room because the carpet was filthy. The toilet bowl tank lid had dust on it even after the cleaning lady went through it the second day we were there. I would not recommend taking anything valuable to this place because I had perfume taken from my room.

The stay overall was average. We were to stay for 5 nights, on the 5th night we came back to our rooms from Silver Dollar City and all of our things were gone. Laptop clothes, souvenirs. Called the front desk and was told that we were only booked for 4 nights. As we were speaking I had my itenirary in hand that said 5 nights. They didnt even offer any type of explanation or apology. Just gave us another room by the strip with all the car show traffic and loud noise with a 9 month old and a 6 year old. And didnt even take our things to the new room. Thought that an explanation would have been nice.
