My husband and I booked a room with our dogs. We had stayed here the previous year because the Hotel Elliott was full. They were under remodel and the pool was completed which we liked. However upon returning the following year, with hopes that the rooms had also been remodeled...we were sadly wrong. We got the handicapped room which hadn't had a thing done to it since (looked liked) 1985. It was atrocious. We stayed one night and made reservations at the Hotel Elliott for the next night because it would have been miserable to stay another there when we could stay at the Hotel Elliott, where there were clean comfortable beds and a better location.

time for a wedding

I would had liked a better view. I read Columbia River and expected a moving river. But overall hotel was nice. We stayed for 4 days and three nights. The room was very nice and clean. The help was also very nice. I did think pool had to much clorine and had a very strong smell.

View is horrible

We stayed here one time and will NEVER stay again. Rooms were dirty and we paid and extra $5 for the view. Yeah, our view was that of a dry dock with broken down in need of severe repair boats. CAUTION: There are NO SCREENS on any of the windows!! The only View we could get was if we actually hung out our window looking around the corner of the hotel we got a slight glimps of Youngs Bay.

We had a great time at this hotel. The front desk clerk, Larry, was great! He went out of his way to get us whatever we wanted. We were traveling with fresh local seafood that we had bought in Astoria --- we asked for an icebucket to carry our goods and was pleased to hear the hotel staff answer our request! We had a great time and will make it a point to return!

Expensive, not good value

I notice the rates shown are way less than my experience. Stayed 2 nights and rate was $229/nt. The river view overlooking the industrial lands with river in distance was $259/nt. These rates are way too high for an average facility. Check-in clerk was on first day on counter without anyone to supervise or help. Slow process. Arrived late after long day of travel from east coast and tub plugged so could not shower. First call was ignored, and took 3 people for 2 hours to solve. Would have taken longer but I had to tell them to finally bring a plunger. Young inexperienced staff at night. Tub plugged again during last morning shower. The manager was reluctant to give anykind of credit. Finally gave a bit, which was unreasonable considering we paid $229/nt.
