Waterside Inn, Chincoteague

We just came back from staying at the Waterside inn for the weekend. I think it was a very nice place and a terrific view of the water. Our room was clean and we always had plenty of towels. It was also nice having breakfast in the morning so we did not have to go out to eat. The people at the front desk were very friendly which was very nice. We would stay there again.

We arrived in a rainstorm, and thought of a warm, dry, comfortable room. Instead, after unpacking, we noticed ceiling tiles missing, and rain leaking from the ceiling in the room. We placed a garbage pail underneath the leak; but the leak expanded to 3 different areas of the ceiling within our room. On the following day, we changed rooms. However, because of a defective lock, we were unable to enter this latter room in the afternoon. Mgmt. did eventually change the lock. However, in regard to the leaking ceiling, management did not offer any aploogy; and we were denied any discount on the rate. Management told us that there was nothing wrong with the roof; and that the rain was coming in because of the direction of the wind. I responded that I would not be back; and would submit a negative review for the benefit of future vacationers.

WE LIKED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING. CLEAN, FRIENDLY HELP, NICE POOL, GREAT FISHING DOCK, WONDERFUL ROOMS, LOVED THE BALCONY FEATURE OVERLOOKING THE BAY, CLOSE TO EVERYTHING YET QUIET. IT'S LIKE BEING HOME AWAY FROM HOME.

ok, the waterside was always a clean place to stay. My whole family has been going there for years. Unfortunately, it was the staff of waterside that has caused us to make plans to attend another hotel next year. My room was not very clean when we checked in. It had a very strong musty odor, and the floor and rug seemed "filmy". We had 8 to 10 flies in it that we had to kill.. There were empty cigarette packs under out bed and paper behind our toilet the entire time of our stay. I know the staff isnt the friendliest but this time they were downright rude to us. We will be staying somewhere different next year. And what's the deal with the "heated" pool? Everytime we tried to go in it in the evening, the heat was shut off. If you dont want your guests to use the pool in the evening, just post it. But in years past you could swim in it until 10 or 11 pm as long as you were quiet, which we always were. Not this year. We couldnt swim in it once it was so cold. A few of the other guests also agreed with us that the Waterside just isnt the place it used to be. Time to move on.

The location is great, the pool ok small and lotsa kids. The room decor is old and tired and doesn't match. The rooms are not cheap I wanted a nice place so I was willing to spend more money but it was not worth it.The office staff is not friendly and make you feel unimportant as you check in I was extremely unimpressed with the office staff I suggest the owner take a closer look at the way they treat custumers as a result of my experiences I will never stay there again. I do not mind paying a little more but this place is so not worth it. I was very disappointed and the rooms are so small.

very clean, beautiful view of bay. Loved the pool and dock on the water. Very well kept. Great service. Entire family goes every year. Only dislikes, management is very picky about behavior, cleanliness, ect. Constantly watching every patron, however, safe and wonderful stay every year

This place is just fantastic. The people there are friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is peaceful. I tell all my friends to stay there. The rooms are clean and smell good. Will go there everytime we go down.

I really liked this Hotel usually we would stay in the hotel next to it, Anchor Inn and we always had problems with it. But last summer we went to this hotel and it was great the pool was really nice because you could be in there when it was dark out and it had lights in it I really liked it.

We received a very friendly welcome, had a nice, clean room and enjoyed continental breakfast and the late night hours the pool was open. I'll definitely go back and recommend the location to friends visiting Chincoteague.

Ok, but compared to comfort suites the price charged is very high
