Wonderful Campground A Must Stay Campground
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/12/09
A group of my friends and their spouses starting coming every year and as we have had children the oldest being 10 and the youngest now 3 months we went here every year. It is a fabulous place to go and relax. We love the Halloween Weekend. As the families have gotten bigger we end up with more and more friends who join us as we camp. I would highly recommend.

Great for kids
By pedro, 7/21/09
My kids loves this place. The pool area is great, with a good size pool, a kiddie pool and a sauna. The grounds are spottless. Very close to all recreational places in the White Mountain area. The rooms are small, but the place is for families and children are welcome. I will go back next year.

Awesome!!!
By BrianM, 6/30/08
We've stayed in the attached campground for the past 10 or so years every time we go to Jefferson, NH to visit Santa's Village and Six Gun City. The campground is the cleanest we've EVER seen (and we camp often). It is a warm and family frendly atmosphere. This year we didn't camp but instead stayed at the motel. The rooms were clean (like the campground) and comfortable. Each has a mini fridge and microwave along with the usual motel "stuff". The owners/management couldn't be any nicer. The people in the room below us (room 101 - we were in room 201) complained that we sounded like a "herd of elephants" when we came into our room in the evening. We, on the otherhand, take great precautions to be as quiet as possible - we even turned off our headlights before pulling our car in front of their room so as to not disturb them. The owner/manager tried everything in their power to relocate these impossible to please (their quote) people to another hotel, but they wouldn't budge. These people even threatened to call the managment ALL NIGHT LONG if there were any sounds. The next night we were LITERALLY tip toeing around the room. On the final day (and apparently their final day too) I was in the shower at about 8:00am and I heard these slight thuds apparently coming from the room below us. Everyone else was still sleeping so I was the only one who heard the thuds (along with the people in the room next to our room). I guess it was the "impossible to please" people who were retaliating for the apparrent "noise" the first night as they were checking out. These were not the brightest people since one must expect some noise when you're in a first floor room. As I said earlier, the management couldn't have been nicer to us throughout the whole ordeal. They told us to not let it bother us and to enjoy our stay. They were aware of the fact that foot steps transmit through the floors into the lower rooms. They even wouldn't hear of it when we offered to move to another room.

Always enjoy staying here!
By Lynn T, 3/29/08
We love it here! We have been going to the Lantern Inn for 4 years and will keep going back. The staff and activities for the kids are great! I don't mind my kids jumping in either of the 2 pools, the water is sparkling and I've seen the owner every morning tending to the pool! Nice and clean. We'll be back this summer! Lynn

Very relaxing
By dave, 9/4/06
The service at the Lantern is good. They offer clean towels and bed making service everyday. The beds are OK but the extra's make up for it. We had a microwave, a small fridge, sm. coffee pot and a blow dryer. I love the fact that the toilet is in a seperate area from the sink. The rooms were large enough to entertain the kids through a rainy day. The location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. The park is cute and the grounds are well maintained. It is not the Hilton - Just a family oriented comfortable motel and campground. I will continue to go back year after year.

If you have kids it does not get any better!
We can't say enough about this place. We stayed in a room which we found to be good sized and well stocked. The staff was friendly and the things to do right one the hotel grounds are great. Hay rides, bon fires, petting zoo, playground, pools etc. If you have kids don't pass this one up. Also within sight of Santas Village.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/23/06
I read the previous reviews thinking this was a nice place. However, I think the owners of the Inn wrote the reviews, in retrospect they seem like advertisements.

Awesome!
By Steve, 8/18/05
We have stayed here the last couple of years. John and Norma (the owners) are fantastic. Their property is immaculate and their service superb. The property is 30 basic motel units. 15 at ground level and 15 one story up. There are four sets of stairs so access is wonderful. All units face the road and are open (no inside corridor). The rooms are nicely decorated, very clean and include mini-fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The property also houses a campground which has a 20 yr waiting list if you want a seasonal spot. There are two pools each with a hot tub, A small petting zoo, a nice playground with PLENTY of activities. There were about 30 kids there last night and not one kid was waiting for their turn. They have activities for kids every evening from 6 to 9. Typical activities include cnady bar bingo, crafts, ghost stories at a fire, hay rides, smore making at a camp fire .... The location is about 200 yards from Santa's Village parking lot and 3 miles to Six Gun City. Lancaster is about 7 miles away and has half way decent food (and a Dunkin Donuts if you need your morning fix) I love the place and can only encourage you to visit them. We love our time in the North Woods and the Lantern makes it perfect.
