Wonderful Campground A Must Stay Campground
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/12/09
A group of my friends and their spouses starting coming every year and as we have had children the oldest being 10 and the youngest now 3 months we went here every year. It is a fabulous place to go and relax. We love the Halloween Weekend. As the families have gotten bigger we end up with more and more friends who join us as we camp. I would highly recommend.

9 Year Customer Given the Shaft!
By Lynne, 07/22/09
I have been staying at the Lantern Resort with my family for the past 9 years! I have faithfully booked a room each year with them never missing our time at the Lantern Resort and Santa's Village. This past May 2009 my dad passed away. Every year I take my mom (who lives with me and my daughter) and Daughter up for a few days and we have always enjoyed our stay...which is why we have been staying at the Lantern Resort these past 9 years. Since my dad passed away, my mom can no longer come with us as she wants to stay back and take care of our dog and 2 cats that my dad used to take care of while we were gone. About a week ago I booked a 2 night stay for Labor Day weekend (9/5 though 9/7). Last night I received a call from Norma Ahern telling me that a mistake had been made and since it's a holiday weekend there is a minimum 3 night stay! I was never told that during my reservation. It's not on the written confirmation I received in the mail. I explained my situation to Norma and she coldly and with absolutely no sympathy told me "I lost my dad too to cancer. It's sad but we have a 3 night minimum stay!" I don't even want to leave my widowed mom (who lives with us) alone for 2 nights let alone 3!!! To say that I was shocked and horrified doesn't even began to express my anger and disappointment. This is how they treat a loyal customer of 9 years!!!! She's going to be insensitive to me and my family over $95 and 1 nights stay!!!! Will they get someone to book the 3 nights? I'm sure they will....but what are the odds that family will return every year for the next 9 years? 3 years ago we went and stayed over Labor Day weekend and there was no minimum stay requirement then! What the heck???? She couldn't make an exception for a long time customer just this once??? She actually told me to call another motel and book with them. Flipped me off and didn't give a rat's butt about our loyalty to them these past 9 years! Hey, joke's on them....I'll post this on every webiste I can write a review and let the 1,000+ friends I have on facebook (80% who have children and I have referred to stay at the Lantern Resort) and I'll make sure they let all of their friends know too just how a customer is treated at the Lantern Resort!!!!! STAY AWAY!!!!! I called this morning to speak with John Ahern and left a message for him to call me back. Needless to say he hasn't and I don't expect him to. My 12 year old daughter is sad that she won't be staying at the Lantern Resort again.......that's all she's know for the past 9 years. Hey, the Lantern Resorts loss is the Cabot Motor Inn's gain.....maybe they'll appreciate a loyal customer!

Great for kids
By pedro, 07/21/09
My kids loves this place. The pool area is great, with a good size pool, a kiddie pool and a sauna. The grounds are spottless. Very close to all recreational places in the White Mountain area. The rooms are small, but the place is for families and children are welcome. I will go back next year.

Awesome!!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 06/30/08
We've stayed in the attached campground for the past 10 or so years every time we go to Jefferson, NH to visit Santa's Village and Six Gun City. The campground is the cleanest we've EVER seen (and we camp often). It is a warm and family frendly atmosphere. This year we didn't camp but instead stayed at the motel. The rooms were clean (like the campground) and comfortable. Each has a mini fridge and microwave along with the usual motel "stuff". The owners/management couldn't be any nicer. The people in the room below us (room 101 - we were in room 201) complained that we sounded like a "herd of elephants" when we came into our room in the evening. We, on the otherhand, take great precautions to be as quiet as possible - we even turned off our headlights before pulling our car in front of their room so as to not disturb them. The owner/manager tried everything in their power to relocate these impossible to please (their quote) people to another hotel, but they wouldn't budge. These people even threatened to call the managment ALL NIGHT LONG if there were any sounds. The next night we were LITERALLY tip toeing around the room. On the final day (and apparently their final day too) I was in the shower at about 8:00am and I heard these slight thuds apparently coming from the room below us. Everyone else was still sleeping so I was the only one who heard the thuds (along with the people in the room next to our room). I guess it was the "impossible to please" people who were retaliating for the apparrent "noise" the first night as they were checking out. These were not the brightest people since one must expect some noise when you're in a first floor room. As I said earlier, the management couldn't have been nicer to us throughout the whole ordeal. They told us to not let it bother us and to enjoy our stay. They were aware of the fact that foot steps transmit through the floors into the lower rooms. They even wouldn't hear of it when we offered to move to another room.

Always enjoy staying here!
By Lynn T, 03/29/08
We love it here! We have been going to the Lantern Inn for 4 years and will keep going back. The staff and activities for the kids are great! I don't mind my kids jumping in either of the 2 pools, the water is sparkling and I've seen the owner every morning tending to the pool! Nice and clean. We'll be back this summer! Lynn

Very relaxing
By dave, 09/04/06
The service at the Lantern is good. They offer clean towels and bed making service everyday. The beds are OK but the extra's make up for it. We had a microwave, a small fridge, sm. coffee pot and a blow dryer. I love the fact that the toilet is in a seperate area from the sink. The rooms were large enough to entertain the kids through a rainy day. The location is perfect. The staff is very friendly. The park is cute and the grounds are well maintained. It is not the Hilton - Just a family oriented comfortable motel and campground. I will continue to go back year after year.

If you have kids it does not get any better!
By , 08/01/06
We can't say enough about this place. We stayed in a room which we found to be good sized and well stocked. The staff was friendly and the things to do right one the hotel grounds are great. Hay rides, bon fires, petting zoo, playground, pools etc. If you have kids don't pass this one up. Also within sight of Santas Village.

Horrible
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 07/23/06
I read the previous reviews thinking this was a nice place. However, I think the owners of the Inn wrote the reviews, in retrospect they seem like advertisements.
