National Hotel, Lahore

I spent my first night in Pakistan at the National Hotel in Lahore, and would happily have stayed longer if my itinerary had allowed. The room and bathroom were comfortable and clean, the staff were efficient but not intrusive, and the breakfast was simple and tasty. It's located on very typical, busy, Lahori street, and to be fair I found this something of a shock, fresh as I was from a quiet European suburb. So if you are looking for a beautiful view or a romantic getaway then this would not be the place! But once inside I found the hotel to be cool, quiet and calm. And it is excellently located for easy access to the great sights of Lahore. The bonus is the management who are very efficient and reliable, who speak excellent English, and who bent over backwards to help me have an enjoyable visit. So overall, I would say that the National represents very good value for money and would recommend it without hesitation.

I was told that it wasn't a good place to stay however having stayed here a week and i have firmly changed my opinion. the place was fantastic- food was excellent and affordable rooms. Good staff who were polite and friendly, it was close to alot of shopping places and cinema like one of the reviews said. Not that far from a shopping centre so I had the opportunity to ride a rikshaw - absolutely brilliant experience and you must visit. Je crois que c'est tres fantastique!

So it was very good. Ive read some reviews on here and decided to give the hotel a try. Its cheap and comfortable, my family wanted to do alot of shopping and experience the culture so we were able to save money on food and accommodation at the hotel and therfore spent more on gifts for neighbours. friends ect. Also had more money to spend on souvenirs and sightseeing. Definitely worthwhile!!!! Give it a go! Or you can spends lots of money on high priced accomodation and small amount of food in other hotels but have lack of money to spend on making your holiday experience amazing from a frequent traveller his would be the best advice i could give!

Ive been to this hotel once before during a travel around the world. I wanted a luxurious affordable place and having come back to the hotel i can clearly see standard have improved, nice room, delicious food if i may say so and the rooms were clean smelt nice unlike other hotels in lahore and the renovation has certainly mae it worth my stay. The suite room was absolutely cheap and comfortable its in my opinion at the top range for a three star hotel.

I stayed here several times. I find it safe and comfortable. If you don't like the room offered, ask for another. The staff is VERY helpful. great location.

You know i went onto yahoo recently to look at hotels and i wanted to see for my self and a world tourist if this hotel really had a bad reputation. After renovation its amazing. My sheets were absolutely clean. A taste of Pakistans culture definately. Through my window. Luxurious rooms and the view was amazing. I only paid a little amount of money which meant I had more money which was available to spend on souvenirs and traditional clothing. Having only just visited Islamabad where I paid a diamonds worth for a poorly cleaned famous hotel this hotel was beautiful and the service was amazing very polite people and food was up to my standards. Rumour heard it that it may become four star although im not sure of this yet. Not far from a shopping mall with exquisite jewellery for the ladies and cheap mens suits. A walk away from a cinema and I would rate this tip-top. Jolly amazing in my opinion. Next stop is Thailand.....

If your a student or on business this is definately a good place to be. Its close to alot of the attractions you save lot of money. Sheets are clean. I think its been renovated. The view is amazing. The people are nice and food is dleicte and luxurious. Especially the ice cream. Amamzing in my words. For Pakistani standar its the best of the best if you want to experience culture as well. Go there!!!!!!

the people who are at the front desk they do not know what they are talking their behavir is bad they have no aducation their dress is very poor they do not know even how to talk to customer

this hotel is a one off- ok the place may be a bit old it may not be a five star luxury But the food is 100% lovely the waiters and maids are very very welcoming and nice and the bedsheets and pillows were cleaned nicely and the bathroom that is if you are nyc with them jus enjoy it the place was a brilliant place for students like me and I managed to shop loads while I was here because it was so affordable

It charged me 1300Rs/day for double bed room with breakfast and it was awful. Dirty toilet, i did not even use it and TV was not working. The staff was Okay and location is fine if you want to visit Lahore, but it needs repair and is very dirty and quite over priced.
