Bayfront Cottages, Rockport

Well I would love to say good things about this place but there are alot of setbacks. Ok, the rennovations are really nice, but what lies between those walls is not so nice. There is a really bad pest infestation in all of the cottages. The hindu guy that answers the phone's english is not that great, and he's very RUDE. Watch out for him at night, because he sits out on the side of the office watching everything that goes on around the property. DOn't make too much noise or he will get real upset. This place used to be good, but now its just not run by the right people.

We will never go back very rude management asked for extra blancket was told turn off a/c pire was dark did not turn the lights on new pier unsafe in dark we found the switches for the lights he send someone to take all the light bulbs out.ants all over shower drain not drining fast over all bad experience all thanks to great hindu management style.

The place is run down but we figured we wouldn't be spending much time there but to sleep UNTIL we had almost finished eating and we saw baby roaches in the sink, counter and dish board too. We told management, they came and sprayed, then bigger ones started coming out, there was caked on food in the oven and then we asked for another room, they didn't have any and wouldn't give us our full amount of money back, they kept one night and we were only there maybe three hours!!!! We had to find other lodging on the 4th of July weekend which cut our trip short by a day and then they called us at 10pm to say they could offer us two rooms with one bed each.... how is that when they didn't offer us that when we were there???? They were apologetic but the upkeep of pest control needs to be done along with that being a health hazard too. We were disappointed!

This place was awful from the moment we pulled in the parking lot and was way over priced!!!! Our door had been kicked in and barely stayed locked We didn't have a shower head(we found this out the hard way while in the shower) Our floors were so filthy that we wouldn't even get out of the shower without shoes on(and this was really bad during the night) THe toilet would hardly flush but was leaking the entire time and we had to keep a towel around it...gross!!! No blinds on the window so we had to use our beach towel There was still food in the ice box from the guest before us We had roaches.. The bathroom window/vent thing was broken and wouldn't close, it was held open by some time of small bottle. The T.V. was broken We didn't even attemp to use or open the stove The management was not concerned with these issues, we spoke to at least 10 other guest who's rooms were as bad if not worse!! All I can say is I hope you never spend a night (better yet 3) in this roach/slum cottage..... We were on a girls trip and this really isn't what we expected or paid for.. WE DIDN'T HAVE A SHOWER HEAD(WE FOUND OUT THE HARD WAY) OUR FLOOR WAS FILTHY(WOULDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF THE SHOWER WITHOUT SHOES ON) TOILET WOULDN'T FLUSH BUT IT WAS LEAKING EVERYWHERE(HAD TO KEEP TOWEL AROUND THE TOILET THE ENTIRE TRIP) NO BLINDS ON KITCHEN WINDOW(USED OUR BEACH TOWEL) FOOD STILL IN ICE BOX FROM OTHER GUEST ROACHES BATHROOM WINDOW/VENT WAS BROKEN WOULDN'T CLOSE PROPPED OPEN FROM OUTSIDE WITH SMALL BOTTLE T.V. DIDN'T WORK WE DIDN'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO USE OR OPEN THE STOVE THE MANAGEMENT DIDN'T CARE ABOUT THESE ISSUES AND I SPOKE TO AT LEAST 10 OTHER GUEST AND THEIR ROOMS WERE AS BAD IF NOT WORSE.... ALL I CAN REALLY SAY IS I HOPE YOU NEVER SPEND A NIGHT (BETTER YET 3 NIGHTS) IN THIS ROACH/SLUMLORD SO CALLED COTTAGE FROM HELL!!!!! WE WERE ON A GIRLS TRIP AND THIS REALLY SUCKED!!

The rooms have been renovated and the pool has been fixed up. Now the office is opened with front desk available during the office hours. The newly renovated room is excellent and non smoking.

We have been staying at this place for years now but it will never be the same as when Kevin ran it. Recently we stayed there and our sink was clogged with dirty water for 4 days until they did anything about it. We had to go all the way to the sportsman manor to get the guy to do something about it because the guy at the bayfront office can't speak english. They are not friendly and now they are letting people live in the cabins who are wierd and it does not feel safe. The pier is falling apart and it doesn't look as if they care too much about that. The only person who is good there is the cleaning lady!!

The main problem we had was that the fellow running the place is Hindu and speaks very little understandable English, which is a big problem when calling (I tried 4 times). I finally reached the manager/owner at the Sportsman's Lodge and he helped with the translation. When we got there we found the location, right on the water, to be excellent. The room was kinda funky, with old furniture, old TV, old refrigerator (which did work), old beds, old bedsheets, etc., so it was definitely on the "we're roughing it" side of things. But we came to fish anyway. The room rates were reasonable. They are re-roofing the cottages and doing some remodeling, so I'll try the place again.

We have been staying at Bayfront Cottages for about 7 years. The first owners were friendly and really great people. Then it was sold and Key Allegro Properties was handling the rent of this facility. They really did a poor job. It has been sold to the people that own the Sportmans Manor. There is some renovations at this time to the Bayfront, the pool is not open yet but it still a good place to stay that is inexpensive and clean. There are restaurants close to this motel and the pier is really nice. Very cosy and quite. I really recommend it and we should be going back to Bayfront Cottages.

The cleaning lady Dawn is the reason I go to the Bayfront Inn. there are new owners but as long as Dawn is there, you'll be treated right.

We like the price.Good location.Need full time house keeping. Hope this location does not get torn down and a big exspensive hotel takes the place of it.We love this place its been our vacation get a way for a long time.Can't wait for july again.Thanks
