Bayfront Cottages, Rockport

The rooms are being renovated, the last time we stayed there there was new paint and new appliances!! There is also a covered pavilion and a BBQ pit. Now this is a place for plain people - no mints on the pillow but very clean and a good pier with a fish cleaning station, and dog friendly. I'm not sure about previous reviews - given that people take things I wouldn't expect pots and pans and if you need a spa type bathroom you'd never be happy here - but if you like nice people it's a good place.

our unit stunk so bad when we went in we had to spray and air it out..pine sol is a thing of the past. we were told we had a kitchenette..ok our stove was so rusty i wouldnt have dared cook on it...there were no pots, pans, cups, glasses,plates, silverware.. i dont know about most people but i dont take those things with me when i go on vacation unless i am camping...there was NO bureau for my clothes or cloths hangers .. so needless to say I had to live out of my suitcase for afew days..the place was nasty filthy inside and outside.. oh yeah and the bathroom was so small I couldnt even unpack bathroom supplies. they told us we would be charged 175 $ if we smoked in the room.. i felt like maybe i should and they could take the 175 and maybe pick up a stove..

nothing to dislike .... the cost was afforable during spring break... my family wants to go back for the summer ... fishing pier was great. have wifi available for my son xbox ... everyone took their laptop . we enjoyed our time

We will never go back very rude management asked for extra blancket was told turn off a/c pire was dark did not turn the lights on new pier unsafe in dark we found the switches for the lights he send someone to take all the light bulbs out.ants all over shower drain not drining fast over all bad experience all thanks to great hindu management style.

The place is run down but we figured we wouldn't be spending much time there but to sleep UNTIL we had almost finished eating and we saw baby roaches in the sink, counter and dish board too. We told management, they came and sprayed, then bigger ones started coming out, there was caked on food in the oven and then we asked for another room, they didn't have any and wouldn't give us our full amount of money back, they kept one night and we were only there maybe three hours!!!! We had to find other lodging on the 4th of July weekend which cut our trip short by a day and then they called us at 10pm to say they could offer us two rooms with one bed each.... how is that when they didn't offer us that when we were there???? They were apologetic but the upkeep of pest control needs to be done along with that being a health hazard too. We were disappointed!

The rooms have been renovated and the pool has been fixed up. Now the office is opened with front desk available during the office hours. The newly renovated room is excellent and non smoking.

The main problem we had was that the fellow running the place is Hindu and speaks very little understandable English, which is a big problem when calling (I tried 4 times). I finally reached the manager/owner at the Sportsman's Lodge and he helped with the translation. When we got there we found the location, right on the water, to be excellent. The room was kinda funky, with old furniture, old TV, old refrigerator (which did work), old beds, old bedsheets, etc., so it was definitely on the "we're roughing it" side of things. But we came to fish anyway. The room rates were reasonable. They are re-roofing the cottages and doing some remodeling, so I'll try the place again.

We have been staying at Bayfront Cottages for about 7 years. The first owners were friendly and really great people. Then it was sold and Key Allegro Properties was handling the rent of this facility. They really did a poor job. It has been sold to the people that own the Sportmans Manor. There is some renovations at this time to the Bayfront, the pool is not open yet but it still a good place to stay that is inexpensive and clean. There are restaurants close to this motel and the pier is really nice. Very cosy and quite. I really recommend it and we should be going back to Bayfront Cottages.

this place is great for people who didn't come to stay in their room the whole trip. It's a place to sleep and keep your stuff when you're out fishing or seeing the sights. If you didn't take the trip to order room service around, then you shouldn't be charged to keep that position staffed to all hours.

Great place to fish and relax. Nice location. The private fishing peir is one of the best I have been to in the Rockport area. Bait stand within walking distance.
