Dakota Pines turned a nightmare into a dream stay!
Well, first off we made the mistake of attempting to stay in Rapid City on the Thursday evening before the Sturgis Rally. Second, we made the mistake of using Priceline to try to find a room, less than four months out. Priceline stuck us with the America's Best "Value" Inn (we have another review for THAT hotel), but the best thing that pack of liars did for us was place us at the Dakota Pines Inn. Taj took care of us, in spite of the other hotel lying to him about our circumstances, and got us settled in at his hotel at the height of the busiest time of the year on VERY short notice.
Just for that, this hotel deserves a 5 star rating.
But, the location of the hotel (within walking distance of 6 restaurants, a Wal-Mart, and a miniature golf course that the kids LOVED!), and the complimentary (and FRESH!) continental breakfast, and it completely removed the horrible experience with the other hotel from our minds.
Thanks again, Dakota Pines! We will definitely becoming back again for a return visit. And this time, it won't be the weekend before Sturgis. :)
