The Woodsman Motel, McCall

Staff is rude and not at all friendly. rooms are not very clean. Very poor maintinence standards. Snow plowing of their parking lot done at their leissure instead of daily as needed. Some serious safety hazards. It's worth a few extra bucks to pay elsewhere for what you aren't getting here.

Stopped staying at this motel for numerous reasons too many to go into.

My family and I stayed during Spring break. It's clean, located in the center of town and close to skiing. Management is helpful and we plan on returning next year.

THERE IS NO WORKING INTERNET AT THIS MOTEL ! They advertise "FREE WiFi" I rely on my computer for work and the office was advised of this yet after I checked in and had paid for the accomidations I found there was no network available. I tried wireless and also plugged my modem in, still no signal. the office told me I could go next door to the internet cafe which is only open during the day. I work durring the day and can't spare the time to do my reports until late evening.The office did not care and never offered to make it right with me. The newly remodeled room had three 3 ft long florecent lights on the wall, one of which flickered very dimly when turned on. One had no lens cover at all. The third was apparently broken as the lens cover was obviously misaligned and falling off. part of the light fixture in the bathroom hung down about two inches from the celing. The bathroom ventalation fan had no cover, was full of cob webs and dirt. The bathroom celing had numerous brown dirty spots up to dime size. I stayed two weeks for work. my room was never vacumed. The day I arrived I had to defrost the freezer and clean the fridge. The carpet is in dire need of shampooing. The back side of the motel is inhabitted by tenants who LIVE there and are what most would consider less than desirable people to keep company with. The parking lot near the dumpster looks like a landfill itself. There are NO phone books in the rooms. This is important to those who have cell phones and need a phone book to find businesses use the event callendar and aps in phone books are especially usefull when you have to navigate in an area you don't know. I realized being the ONLY patron most of my stay was a clear indication people know what I came to realize. "YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR !" I WOULD NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN.

We were pleasantly suprised to find that the Woodsman had just finished completely remodeling thier rooms. It was clean and comfortable and the location is perfect.
