The Grand Hotel, Sydney

Where quite disappointed. Description in travel guides and picture on website were more than the usual bit off. Room was OK, though dusty in the areas where you would have to move a bed to vacuum or so, shared bathrooms could definitely use a face lift. Service was OK, when someone was there (we arrived on NYs and had no way of reaching anyone for checkin, apparently there's no hotel reception when the pub is closed. "Breakfast" was a joke, continental is something other, but ok, better than nothing. Overall strange atmosphere, didn't really see anyone else there, everyone just kept to their rooms when there, not much communication, etc. Strange Place. Location is the only real plus!

The rooms in the Grand Hotel were dirty and in very poor state of repair. On first sight of the room we tried to book elsewhere but couldn't get anywhere else to stay because it was a public holiday.2 days after our stay we discovered we had caught SCABIES!!! from the bed sheets. This place is a health hazard!!!

Cheap, central, convenient. No fuss! This is a cheap and clean central Sydney pub hotel. No more, no less. No hassle. Friendly reception, but only negative = shared toilets bathroom.
