clean it's not!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 10/27/11
Take your cleaning supplies if you want a clean room. The walls had stuff all over them. I read this was a locally owened and opeated business for 22 years. It lookslike everything in there is 22 years old. Cigarette burns on the furniture and bedding, in a smelly no smoking room

beware of this very low end hotel
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 7/7/11
checked in saturday july 2 room seemed satisfactory no amenities but didnt expect alot. should have known by the attitude or the front desk person that it was truly one of those flea bag hotels one used to encounter on a road trip. my son and i mainly wanted to stay to spend some alone time together and swim walk and talk. the pool was green the room seemed okay although the phone did not work and was reported to the front desk but my mom was told there was nothing wrong with it, it did not magically begin to work for the next 24 hours either. i then reported the a/c unit blowing hot air also told it was working they brought a floor fan the temp that day was 109...so anyone needing a reasonably priced hotel on the northwest part of town DO NOT CONSIDER THIS ONE!!!! There is a Best Western next door go there or anywhere else....

What breakfast? not worth the money!!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 4/26/11
disliked the fact they didnt have any amenities! no coffee, no coffee pots! no complimentry breakfast! I stayed a entire week! and I wished I had a car to get out of there! for the price, It was not worth it, at all. howard johnson or days inn would have been much nicer for the same amount of money with more amenities, free breakfast, your OWN coffee pots and Coffee. The pool water was green, ..GREEN! with algae or whatever else was lurking in there! ETC. Never again.

BEDBUGS in room 124
By Dan, 5/11/10
This was the first time that I have encountered bedbugs in any hotel. I was bitten 10 or so times in the night... I've travelled throughout Central and South America and stayed at some pretty seedy hotels without having a similar terrible incident. However, I've now read on the web that bedbug infestations have increased dramatically within the US over the last 10 years or so. The Flamingo Suites is no dive, and the room we stayed in had good access, a nice kitchen, was quiet, and the hotel grounds are beautifully landscaped. However, the rug was quite dirty (turned soles of bare feet almost black after taking only a few steps) and most notably the area under the headboard was filthy. The latter floor area was inspected while looking for crawling bedbugs; I pulled the bed away from the wall upon waking early in morning and after finding numerous bloodspots on white bedsheets. I found 4 bedbugs in total - 3 on sheets and one one the wall below headboard. I was able to collect 3 of these parasites and deposited them in a tiny shampoo bottle. I gave the bottle with the insect parasites to hotel staff. I also showed the hotel staff the bloodspots on my sheets and also pointed out that similar bloodspots were evident on the sheets of my wife's bed (these blood stains remained after the sheets were washed) - though thankfully she was not attacked in the night. However, the telltale bloodspots on her sheets may be a sign that other rooms in this hotel may be infested with this human parasite. Although the hotel staff assured me that the hotel's owner would call me to discuss this matter, he never did. I carry a pillow with me on trips, but decided to abandon it given the high probability that it would have eggs of bedbugs deposited on it. That afternoon we departed Tucson and flew home to Maryland. Even though I left our suitcases in the back of our minivan for 2 1/2 days, incredibly - I still pulled a LIVE adult bedbug from the outside of my cloth suitcase. What an experience! Now I have the added problem of monitoring for and perhaps exterminating these human parasites at my home.

Not a good choice
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 12/21/08
When we first arrived, they gave the room we had reserved to another person. Then, the room we got had no heat (mid December!). They changed us to another room. Still, no heat. They refused to give us a refund or to change our room again. There was only one thin blanket on the bed and the room was very cold. NEVER again!

Mold in closet
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 8/28/07
We complained that the room had a musty/mold smell. They refused to give us another room but had someone spray the room. We left and came back in evening and found the room to smell worse. We opened the closet and there was mold on the ceiling in the closet. We left immediately! Gross hotel, afraid what type creatures would be in bed.
