Crowne Plaza Guatemala, Chicacao

Money was stolen 5 days ago, which was given to the front desk in a sealed and taped envelope. I've spent much time calling the hotel and each day it was "no problem" and promises of calling that very few were met. Two days ago the hotel was going to reimburse me "no later than this morning" It's 3:00 - about 15 minutes and my next call is GM.

We were very pleased with our stay. We had a suite with a living room and small kitchen, very spacious. Food was average. People friendly. Would consider them again.

The workers at the hotel are very friendly, inthe restaurants the food is extremele great, and the hotel personnel makes you feel at home. The are well informed. Around the corner there is a super market and they sell everything you need when walking around the area. I have no complaint about the hotel, and compared to other rooms service was fast.

WOW - this hotel is off the charts! The staff are courteous and extremely helpful and many of them speak good english. We came to Guatemala for an adoption and ran into other adoptive families who were staying at other hotels that had nobody who spoke English, such as the Holiday Inn. If someone is telling you to stay somewhere because it is closer...don't listen - taxi's were always handy and there was lots to do within walking distance. The food at the restaurant was great - they have a full menu as well as three buffets, dinner, lunch, and breakfast -- all great. High speed internet is wireless and can be used in your room, however if you are uploading or downloading large files we found that better to do on the main floor, so we would come down to the restaurant and sit at one of the tables near an outlet for as long as we liked. Here is the clincher - - I had to go to the grocery store (two places down from our hotel) to get a different kind of formula for our son because he wasn't tolerating the kind we brought. The grocery didn't have the exact kind I needed, so I came back to the hotel and asked the front desk staff for their help and they had another store deliver exactly what I needed about 15 minutes later! What service!! You can stay somewhere else if you want, but you will not have a better stay anywhere else in Guatemala City!

my husband is traveling for bussines, i try to call him and nobody answer the front desk, just ones i was attended by the hotel, it seems incredible that there is no answer in a hotel

The hotel staff were very friendly, most spoke english very well (or understood broken spanish very well)! The hotel is beautiful, beds are very comfortable, very nice gym, and great view from the rooftop, especially at night. The food off the menu was good, but the buffets were hit and miss. The business centre is convenient, but it was difficult to get a computer in the evenings as there was no time limit (free internet access)and some people were on there for 3 hours at a time. Great location, close to shopping (handicraft market and malls) and restaurants.
