Art Hotel Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach

Haha those were probably my grandkids making all the noise. All I can say is I love the Art Hotel. It has a great family atmosphere and the owners are over the top where hospitality is concerned. They even brought in a REAL crib for the baby. Not one of those shabby little death traps that most hotels have. The kids LOVED Gail and as far as the other comment about her drinking. I never saw Gail act in an unprofessional manner EVER and I stayed there an entire month. Gail was in fact ALWAYS available at any hour to help out so that was a mean thing to say about her. In the Bible Jesus said in John 8:7 "If anyone of you is without sin, let him throw the first stone at her" We LOVE you Gail!!

What a waste of a night and money.First time I have ever left early. The noise outside our bedroom window was horrendous. It started late evening until 2.30am,due to wedding the next day. This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. .Breakfast we were told would be continental laid on the left hand side of the reception desk at 7.30 am.Ready to leave first thing,the door was locked until 7.45,when the lady(probably the manageress)came with hair dripping of water as if she had come straight from the shower.It was obvious that she was still a little under the influence of drink,and when the wife spoke of our concerns she started to weep.and splutter out that we were the first people to book out early this year.No breakfast was laid out ready for guests,but that didn't matter to us as we wanted out ASAP.Can't comment on the facilities as we never saw them.The room was just about ok for the money,but in all what an anti climax to e mails and pictures on the net. Not close to the town centre ,a fair walk. stay well clear. Not quality.

Spoke with Paul on the phone. Mentioned the two poor reviews listed here. Simply said it is not only a bargain, it is an unpretentious , clean (very clean!), beachy, hip, no frills, pace to stay! It was our anniversary, and the owners also own Picayo's restaurant. We took a room and made dinner reservations! Home run for both experiences. Most helpful and informative staff for things to see and do as well! Stay here! Tim and Kay

to put it simply the room is cheap and so is the bed and pillows but if you dont care about a good night sleep its ok

Finding the "Art Hotel" was an accident-Staying there was a vacation treat. Besides the immaculate room, the pleasant comfortable atmosphere, the close, easy walk to a dynamite little beach, the free trolley right out the door and the reasonable rates, the owners/managers, Gail & John are just a delight. Both are so helpful & dedicated to creating an unbeatable vacation experience. Children are welcome and treated like family. My grandkids adored Gail. It's so obvious & a pleasure to witness two people enjoying their lifes indevors. She runs the hotel (extremely well) and he runs (and cooks for) their unbelieveable restaurant down the street. While staying at the hotel (or just visiting Laguna) the restaurant is a MUST attend. The ambiance is comfortable, friendly & warm with a casual european elegance. John just makes you feel at home from the second you walk in. THE FOOD IS TO DIE FOR! My husband's Beef Bourguignon was simply out of this world and my mushroom & spinich raviolli would bring the best pasta chef in Italy to his knees. Without a doubt it was the best vacation we've had in a long time. We're already talking about when we go back!

My nieces and I had a wonderful time staying at the Art Hotel! Gail was so very helpful with everything! She suggested activities for us, helped us arrange for transportation, guaranteed parking for my nephew and his family who came from Temecula for a day's visit, provided a continental breakfast and was just always kind and welcoming. I would definitely go back there and stay! Sandy

My sister and I are remodeling my mom's condo in Laguna Woods and we stayed here for 3 weeks in March-April 2008. It was exactly what we needed with a nice, large, clean room, huge bathroom, wireless internet, daily continental breakfast, pool, several nice outdoor seating areas with potted plants and flowers everywhere, great beds, etc, etc. We are still raving about what a great place this is. It's about a block or two down to the beach and it is a steep climb back up. Check it out on the map. But the neighborhood surrounding this motel is charming and we walked in every direction and it was so gorgeous. This motel is on the Pacific Coast Highway so it's a bit noisy but for the money, it's really awesome. There is also private, underground parking so your car is safe. The staff was excellent and bent over backwards to accommodate our needs for those 3 weeks. There's even a washer/dryer. I'm sure I missed something but it really is a jewel at an excellent price.

As a business traveler I am always looking for quality hotels that meet my company's budget, provide business grade wireless Internet service with VPN support and meets my families needs. John and his staff go out of their way to serve and over deliver recently adding high speed wireless service that "really works," and its free to guests. We walked to the beach, resturaunts and even did the Thursday art walk here in Laguna Beach. John's Laguna Beach America's Best Inn is one of the nicest places we stayed this summer even beating some ritzy resorts. I would highly recomend America's Best Inn in Laguna Beach to anyone!!!!! What a great experience. Management was wonderful. Very accommodating, helpful and very friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is located only one block from a very nice small stretch of beach. What a great place to relax. No crowds on the beach during the Labor day weekend when we were there. What a nice change of pace. The hotel is just far enough where there isn't the hassle and traffic of downtown but is within walking distance if you choose go and check out the shopping and downtown scene. Overall a great experience and my husband and I are looking forward to returning soon.

I just spent a week in the Best Inn in Laguna Beach, California, with five of my best friends. We went primarily to see the Pageant of the Masters but also had a wonderful time exploring the area. There was a free trolley 1/2 block from the hotel that would take us almost anywhere we wanted to go. John, the manager/owner was just delightful! I have never stayed in such a clean room with such a comfortable bed. Our rooms were large and had a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, balcony and ocean view. Oh yes, did I mention the great beds???? Thanks for the special treatment John, from your new friends Novella, Ida, Linda, Kay, Bonnie and Pat.
