We recently rented rooms at this facility for a family reunion. Big mistake. They are completely "renovating" the entire lodge. It is a total mess.
Our rooms were rented months ahead of time and we were never told about the renovations. Several members of our group were over 65. We were told that they would be able to access their rooms via the elevator, which was not true. We worried for 2 days that someone would fall going up or down the numerous steps. Certain members of our group were switched to the ECONOLODGE across the street only days before our reunion & had to cross a busy street to get to our meeting room.
The list of problems with our rooms included: dirty rooms, stained carpets, lack of hot water the 1st night, no television in the bedrooms, lack of electricity and/or lightbulbs in the bathroom, & no window coverings in the loft rooms. One of the bathrooms did not have a water supply. When it was turned on, water began to pour down below into the kitchen.
There didn't seem to be anyone around that could repair anything in a timely manner or even run a vacuum. The night clerk sat at the desk spitting sunflower seeds on the counter.
Hopefully, no one will visit this lodge anytime soon. We paid $169 per night....which was about $139 too much. Granbury is a great place to visit. Just plan to stay somewhere else.
