Island House Hotel, Orange Beach

The price is not inline with the services offered. It cost 0.50 to make a local call. The internet is 9.99 for 1 day. The Hotel should have microwave and refrigerator. The TV doesn't have enough channels. No business and fitness center. The rooms are outdated, the desk is so small, the bedding is not soft and not enough pillows. The shower curtain had mold and also the shower drain was clogged when we arrived. The ice machine on our floor was broken. Also, we could hear our neighbors talking through the walls. The only things that we enjoyed was the beach and the view from the room.

My husband and I went the weekend after July 4th and it was great. We stayed in an excutive king--beautiful beach views from all 4 windows--private balcony overlooking the pool, the beach/ocean. Very comfortable -couldn't get any better. We loved it so much we stayed an extra night and we will go back -- highly recommend. No complants!!

My husband, two kids and I stayed at this hotel during our vacation on July 26, 2006 and we thought this place was great. The view of the beach from the 8th floor is breathtaking. Very peaceful. The beach was not crouded at all. Everything a person could want or need either within walking distance or driving distance.

We stayed over 4th of July weekend for a wedding at a complex nearby. This was the 3rd time my husband and I stayed here because the past experiences had been pleasurable. However, we will not go back. I needed an ironing board because ours was broken-I called at 3pm on Friday and received it at 1pm Saturday after I called again. (Rememer- I was there for a WEDDING) Our room was very moist the entire time we were there. I ended up sick for a week afterwards. I also ended up with an ear infection from swimming in their pool. The staff was very rude upon our check out and made that an awful experience too. I know it was 4th of July and you would think that to be the reason, but it was not. There was not one other guest at the counter or in the lobby during our check-in or check-out. (They were all at the beach or in the pool!)

Well, we have stayed there several times over the years. It seems to have gotten worse as the years passed. The price is a bit much for the service, and the rooms are not too clean. Had an experiece where the toliet was dirty and also we stayed in the suite once and there was a big roach. YUK! But unfortunatley the area of gulf shores and orange beach really doesn't offer much better on the beach front.

I would recommend this hotel for anyone. Everything was so clean and neat. I thought the location was excellent. We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was big and nice, the beach there is awesome and the hotel was clean and about as good as it gets!

The Island House Hotel is the most wonderful place to stay in Orange Beach. We stay here every year. The hotel is clean and neat, the staff is so nice and courteous, the pool area is beautiful, and the food in the restaurant is good. We get appetizers while we are on the beach!! GREAT LOCATION. PRICE AND QUALITY ARE EXCELLENT. THE LAST DAY THERE, WE ATE BREAKFAST AND THE SERVICE WAS BEYOND HORIBLE. THE STAFF WAS WELL UNDERMANNED FOR THE RESTRAUNT HOWEVER, THE PRICES WERE EXTREMELY HIGH. THIS LEFT A POOR TASTE. BUT AFTER YOU COOL OFF THE PRICES LEVELED OUT. IF THAT BREAKFAST WOULD HAVE BEEN SERVED WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS AND I WOULD HAVE FINALLY GOTTEN A DRINK, I WOULD GIVE THIS HOTEL 5 STARS RATING.

it was the worst stay's of my life. we woke to an utter cacophony in early morning hours ready to flee the primises. we did not have hot water for showers for the two nights we stayed.management was not sympathectic to our needs at all.

The view is tremendous. The penthouse has the best view of the whole area. The service was completely helpful and attentive. We are going back again this year. I recommend it for all, not just families. The beach is beautiful and you don't feel overwhelmed by people. We had a wonderful time.
