Alegre Beach Resort, Sogod

Alegre is always a place i look forward to visit - been there four times in nine years. It has this unusual charm - almost magical. the rooms are cabana types that give you privacy. the room itself is so big and luxurious - big tub! excellent amenities and facilities. The food is a little sparse for buffet but still great - well this is a small resort only 39 rooms - so if you want really great food order a la carte and seek the chef for recommendations. the beach is to die for, natural white sand and the underwater sights are amazing! they have their own in house marine sanctuary and they train fish wardens in neighboring towns and encourage them to build marine sanctuaries too. really great! one of my two favorite resorts in Cebu!

What a place Great views, great rooms, great location. I stayed here for 2 nights woth my Girl Friend. We found every thing about the resort just so spot on. A bit pricey though but they are worth their price as they cater for your every need during your stay. Thank You

Service outstanding! Staff is outstanding! Facilities are outstanding! Food is outstanding! Friendly, professional! Very clean! Beautiful views of the ocean! I've traveled world wide and this is my best experience ever! Fresh fruit is always available. The room service is great. Everything about the facility reflects outstanding management and a personal interest in service.

Beaches,the place,the people,,its my hometown!I love staying in Maribago Bluewater Resort to be specific,love the ambience,good service,a nice place to stay when your on vacation.

One thing I like about this place is the wonderful staff. They really go above and beyond everything. They have spoiled and pampered me so much I did not want to go home. The magnificent view from my room was spectacular and breathe taking! Peace and quietness is what I was looking for, and I got it.

We spent a "second honeymoon" there in March 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed it: The trip there takes about 1 1/2 hrs- to us it was great getting to see some beautiful countryside, old Spanish churches, villages etc..and our driver was very helpful explaining details. - The hotel is a bungalow/cabana type hotel, with double units (the largest bathrooms we have ever seen) spread throughout a park like area, huge, some walking through very well maintained gardens. It has a great white coral sand beach, nearly 1 km long with coves, which has the advantage that it offers even a snorkeler a great under water sight and lots of colourful fishes(I am not diving). A fully equipped dive station offering full PADI instruction (my hubby did)...did also use their bananaboat.The free sunset cruise was beautiful, we saw a large number of dolphins in the wild. Food is great, either directly on the beach or in the Pavilion Restaurant..Chef is German married with a lady from Cebu so offering the best of East and West. We also enjoyed their spa which has a really large menu. All in all...we loved it and will definitely be back.

Likes: - Great breakfast buffet and the ala carte food was great too. - Very kind, helpful and polite staff. - Quiet and relaxing surroundings. - Spacious and Clean Rooms(Ocean View w/ Garden). - Nice clean pool. - Fish Feeding and Average Beach. Dislike: - Mosquitoes in the outdoors at night (Too bad we didn't bring any mosquito repellant lotion). Neutral: - Distance is a bit far but we were able to purchase Cebu Lechon along the way =D.

My fiancee and I spent one night in this resort.Fantastic views of the ocean beautful rooms and wonderful service made for a truly enriching experience. I am a budget traveller and would never pay the published rates. However when I was passing Sogod on my way to Bantayan island I went for a look and found the rate to be much lower than advertised at 7000php +/ night. Dont get ripped off, its always adviseable to contact the resorts directly. Unless of course moneys no object.

The place is very expensive and its very unreasonable. The place is too far from the city takes about forever...the pool is big but nothing fancy, bougainvilla plants are unmanageable its like all over the rocks. Beach is fair but i saw 2 dead sea orchins and it smells horrible. (yuck!) employees are staring at me as if im a bank...
