Pangkor Laut Resort, Pangkor

We stayed in Pangkor Laut Resort from 8th through 11th of February. We kept about $600 in an envelope inside of a day pack. The day pack was all zipped up and placed inside of the closet. We did place our passports and major portion of our cash and valuable in the safety box. But $600 was intended to be used as pocket money in case of need while we were in the resort, but in our wildest dream we couldn't imagine someone would steal that in a five Star Resort. As soon as we found out money was missing, we reported it to PLR staff and wrote a summary of the incident. We also provided them with the list of all the places we were planning to stay before we come back home from our vacation per their request, so they could provide us with update. We selected Pangkor Laut Resort because it was advertised as one of the World’s Top Five-Star Resorts, so my wife and I were looking forward to an amazing experience with certain expectations from a five Star Resort. What makes a place remarkable or performance of its staff to shine is when they face challenges and how to respond to the challenges not just during ordinary time. Unfortunately we have to say we are very disappointed about this incident, someone had to go out of his/her way to take the money out of our bag from privacy of our room and as a result we lost our confidence on the security of the resort. We also had to initiate all the contacts and call long distance from different locations in our trip and ask for update, we were hoping Resort to take this incident more seriously and contacted us as a sign of good faith, since we were asked to provide information about our daily locations with phone numbers, so the resort could provide us update. In the grand scheme of all the things, $ 600 might not be a significant amount, but one customer, well taken care of, could be more valuable than $10,000 worth of advertising. The higher the level of satisfaction a customer has is one of the determining factors in the success of any business. I am very disappointed to see that Angkor Lout Resort decided to Fail customer satisfaction. As a result Angkor Lout Resort has lost any future business with us.

We went to Pangkor Laut for our honeymoon and stayed at the Spa Villa. The villas are on stilts on the sea with the huge bathtub overlooking the ocean. Just beautiful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Except for the food prices, way too costly. Other than that, it's a perfect getaway.

Great location and the staff are very friendly. We had a sea villa, which had a great view but we were very disappointed with the quality of the room. For $460 USD per night we expected more. The meal plan was very expensive with the food really not anything to write home about..pub food at best. On a positive note the spa experience was amazing and the best we have ever had, probably the most exciting part of the trip! It was a nice place to see, but this is a once only trip for us. Quite disappointed

What a stunning setting, the staff are friendly and helpful, the resort is the perfect setting for a romantic get away. You are treated like royalty from when you arrive, from the cool towels to the Hibuscus juice everything is designed to set you at ease. The Hill Villa's are fantastic and if you are lucky enough to get a courtyard stone bath, you can lie in privacy with the jungle coming right into the courtyard. The resturants are great, you have a fantastic variety to choose from and there is something for everyone. A great way to explore the island is to meet at the Library and take the tour, it's fun and interesting, ending up at Emrald Bay. Pangkor Laut is a must for anyone who would like to relax without the hustle and bustle of a busy town and markets. Fantastic!!!!!!

it invades by chinese crew now.the resturant is insufficient when peak season.the B.B.Q costs us50/per is not worthy,because nothing in particular,just somecrab,shrimp,lamb..and the shuttle boat 30/per also too high,maybe i am not so rich to live it,and must take boat as schedule is not so conveniet.but live beyond the sea is an extraordinary experience,it deserved.maybe it is the some part you paid.all the attendents in the island are gentle.but i`ll say one time is enough to visit this resort.

It's a place that you should and must visit if you could afford. No where is like Pangkor Laut Resort. When I were there, I stayed at the Hill View. Love it!!! I love most the bath tub that they have it outside the villa. Having a wonderful time and you can enjoy the nature at the same time. Will definately visit there again.

Peaceful, serene. Great place to get away from it all. Service could be improved if more English training could be given to the waiters to avoid misunderstanding, otherwise excellent. Would recommend it to anyone who wants to totally relax! Do not leave the place without going through their spa experience! Oh almost forgot! The food is to die for!

My wife and I were both drawn to Pangor Laut's "one island, one hotel" ads, and our whole experience was better than we could have imagined. It was out good fortune to have the cabin in the middle of the aerial view of your ads, a few steps from the beach but cool ocean breezes in the morning and evening. We did everything we could, from dining on the bay at sunset to hiking over the island from the Spa to the Bay, and didn't begin to see everything. We did gain too much weight, but it was hard not to go back to the buffet again and again with a table overlooking the infinity pool. We've been to Penang, Langkawi, Tioman, Sibu and several others but Pangkor was the Best of the Best. Thank you!
