4 reviews for The Old Turner Inn, Catalina Island
We would recommend it to our friends
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 04/13/08
We had never visited Catalina Island although we have lived in SD for 16 years. We had no idea what to expect. Catalina Island is very charming and The Old Turner Inn is a special jewel on the island. The Cape Cod style house was furnished very nicely with comfortable couches, antiques, and a lovely sunporch where we had delicous breakfasts. Our room and bed were very comfortable. I think the best part was meeting the owners and hearing their stories of Catalina all the way back to the 1920's. Jean and Bill could not have been more hospitable. Christa, the inn keeper, was also gracious to us and kept us well fed at breakfast. We would definetly recommend the Old Turner Inn, but go during the off season, if possible.

We loved it!
By A Yahoo! Contributor, 08/23/05
We have visited Catalina several times and this was by far the best place we have stayed. Keep in mind, Avalon isn't the quietest place in the world. The golf carts tend to be noisy and beep when they back up so you have that to contend with anywhere in the "flats" as the natives call most of the city. But the Old Turner Inn was the quietest place we have stayed and the food was delightful. Christa, the manager, and Jeanne and Bill, the owners, were full of interesting stories about life on the island and many of their friends dropped by during our stay, which made for lively conversation. We will definitely go back.

Our stay was much above expectations. The comfort was wonderful and the hosts delightful.
We are very particular, frequent travelers. This is a winner.
